You are one of the lucky ones...
As when I went in to get my phone sorted... I was told that the cracking is a known issue which they will not be dealing with so if it happens we will replace during warranty period only... This is not good... as they know they have an issue but there not going to sort it out at the production level...
Who said APPLE are better? There not, they have many issues just like other manufacturers...

I had a 3GS for about four months and the only complaint I had was that the chrome detail around the phone was easily scratched. Don't use the phone if you haven't shaved as beard stubble is hard enough to make marks in the chrome.
No kidding?
I hate chrome accents (or any kind of thin coatings, actually - especially gloss). They always wear away or mark easily.

How many of you carry your iphone in your pocket and do you have problems with dust underneath the screen?
I'd love to carry mine in my pocket. I do, once in a blue moon (but I'm afraid), I've heard stories of dust getting underneath the screen. Is this even true? if not, then I would definitely toss my leather holster.
Please advise or share stories. Thanks!

I've never used a case with any of my iphones. If I'm wearing a business shirt then the iphone sits in the shirt pocket otherwise its in my trouser pockets.
My 3G a year ago did get dust in the screen but Apple happily replaced it for that reason.
My 3GS, which I've had since the day it came out, has zero dust

@Masseur, So the phone is completely naked? No plugs on headphone jack or dock port? Ok, then that would ease my fears of using my phone in pocket. Plus, it is so much more convenient... Thanks...

yep. totally naked... the way Mr Jobs would want it
just make sure there's nothing else scratchy in the same pocket, like coins etc

Probably the day after the new iPhone is announced or at very least around about this date.
@masseur (or anyone else who has had phone replaced due to dust). How mch dust did u have under yor screen I currently have 2 specs of White dust under my screen but it is annoying me. Fo u think they will replace under warrenty (even with some additional damage) the dust isn't excessive but is frstrating. I also have a cracked back it is at the bottom splitting up the middle of the device from the bttom and is now about 2cm long. I haven't. Dropped the phone and I noticed it one day do u think this would hinder/enhance my chances of replacement.
Also another question I have is, when are people cUrrently planning on selling there current generation iPhones to get as much £££££ as possible? To fund the new phone if this is indeed anyone elses plan! |

I had 4 or 5 specks of dust but depending on what was being displayed it really showed up badly.
when I get the next gen, my daughter has claimed my 32gb 3gs and my wife has claimed my daughters 16gb 2g, so I don't plan on selling
its amazing how much iphones keep their value though so I wouldn't be too worried

@frank2345babies
When I traded my 9700 for the 3Gs it arrived with a split which started near the port, I booked an appointment with a genius and they swapped it with the minimum of fuss!
