There is currently a big ? over whether the device has an FM Transmiter onboard. It's definately not available with the current Firmware if there is one.

Have a look here for a guide http://samsungi8910omnia.com/[....]ving-orange-with-new-firmware/

It will cost you 15 Euros to download the Firmware as Samsung haven't officially released it yet. There's also a "How to" PDF guide on the share4.gsm site where you download the files and the Admin is very helpful if you have a problem.

Make sure you do a backup first and restore everything other than the phone settings otherwise you'll end up with a load of the Orange crap back on there. You will have to set up the settings again such a ringtones, alerts, wallpapers, etc after the phone is debranded; it was well worth it in my case. The phone is now back as Samsung intended with all of the real apps back.

Thanks for the reply, I used my friend google last night and found the same site.

I can confirm that indeed its all good, and works perfectly.

I even managed to re download the Orange Maps and install (seeing as its free on my tariff)

All good

How's the web browser compare to the iPhone? Is it as fast and responsive? Easy to zoom in and out? I'd really only miss the auto word correction of the iPhone. Does it need going back and fixing words again or is it generally quite accurate? Looks like a great phone just not into s60 much, but not tried s60 touch.

Sorry I've never owned or used an iPhone. I prefer the browser to Opera on the i900 as it's got full Flash support and I find it far less fiddly to use.

The text entry again is much nicer than the i900 due to the keyboard size and responsiveness of the screen. You can do T9 with the keypad or free text with the full screen QWERTY; there currently is no T9 with the full screen QWERTY. I prefer and am now pretty quick with the full screen keyboard.

Had mine for about 12 hours now. I'm pretty impressed with it.
Let's see how the next few days of use turn out to be.

Here is a pic I took some hours ago.
Macro mode everything else is on default.

Sorry I have only debranded the Firmware on mine not unlocked it from the Orange network. There are a couple of websites around offering unlocking now for around £20-25 though.
