Reese is the codename. This device is aimed towards the younger generation..hence the QWERTY keyboard (for texting/chatting) and focus on social networking sites. It is also not a touchscreen phone.

^ Whats not true?

Thanks.

Reese? Is that the codename?

I think they need to sort out the bottom end of the design. There should be nothing stopping them from raising the d-pad up to the same level as the screen. Then the design wouldn't look so.....

The swivel might appear to be a problem but not if they use the 'cycloid' mechanisms that are in use on some Japanese handsets.

Thank you Peter Kay.

Well it doesn't have to be a cycloid rotation, not that any company can call their swivel cycloid since it is by Sharp. The rotation joint my be underneath the right softkey.

Regardless, I'll reserve my opinions when I see live photos of the device. People shouldn't judge a product based on a tiny picture like that. And I can't believe how when there is finally a leak online, people start to whine and complain right away. Maybe that's why nothing is leaked anymore...

Exactly. This actually makes me think that some of us deserve only what is now fondly known as "Copy-paste" phones.

Just had to wonder if they had trouble implementing auto rotate of the screen in the software.???
It is different.
I don't want a signature anymore.

No, I presume it's because a vertical screen orientation is much more preferable when one is IMing etc.

Ah, now if the d-pad was raised up then it would interfere with the use of the right hand portion of the qwerty.

Kudos to them for trying something new and who was it that said there would be no more swivels this year? Well, its a sort of swivel.

Its unusual for the codename to appear on publicity material (if thats what it is) so Reese might be its actual name. If true then this marks a departure from the current naming convention.

Or because it's still a prototype and isn't set to be announced soon, the promotional material for it simply reflects the only name that exists currently.

Reese looks like some sort of Sidekick like device. Probably aimed at tweens. Where is the QWERTY for more mature audiences.

Why not ? Every one is saying (and it's a fact) that SE is stuck at the same design level. Some new fresh design should not be bad !

Only if the actual design is good...
In other words, I'm not to keen on that form factor either.
