while getting rid of porn sites by redirecting all the traffics to a proxy is the easiest way to do, it has some tremenjis drawbacks. which one you prefer: no porn sites or no privacy? using a dedicated software for that purpose either on users' computer or on their isp's eats spaces and resources, and potentially slows things down.
a simple yet wery wery powerful site blocking is to edit host file and redirect unwanted sites to localhost like trojan qhost allegedly belongs to the riaa has successfully done. it requires manual labor, though. or, you may try built in parental control on the browser/os.
anyway, I actually don't wanna waste more energy on pornography. to my knowledge, no nation ever perished because its citizens are so fond of skinny bitchy nawty porn queens on the internet. let's concern ourselves on more important issues like digital divide.

A spouse on their fiftieth wedding anniversary...
Husband: I love so much, dearie..
Wife: Beg yours? Sorry, couldn't hear anything without that blooming hearing aid device.
Husband (yelling): I WAS SAYING THAT I LOVE SO MUCH, HONEY.
Wife: Oh I feel the same way about you too, darling. I HATE YOU SO MUCH.

First of all, I'm not a libertarian .I don't like neither Ron nor Rand Paul. But I got so sick when govment wanna take over everything, including the way we browse sites on the net for the sake of morality, pornography.

Fortunately I'm using Microsoft Windows. Microsoft Internet Explorer is Clark Kent sitting under our nose without ever noticing it could be so powerful to get rid of unwanted contents without a third-party software. Here are simple steps to do that (on MSIE 6):

(1) Choose Tools | Internet Options.
(2) Choose tab Content.
(3) In the section Content Advisor, click Enable. Content Advisor window pops up.
(4) In tab Ratings, adjust the level for each category.
(5) For added security, choose tab General, and click Password. Type password, and confirm it by hitting OK.
(6) Happy squeaky-clean browsing!

The bad news is, another major browsers like Google Chrome, Safari, Opera, don't have parental control like this, so they must be wiped out. And, oh, me talking to a country taht only less then 25% of its population have access to the internet but made silly comments about internet, so if it bugs you, I beg your forgiveness. Or maybe I shouldn't post this and let my hyperactive govment do it for me? And those 75% who don't have access to the internet? Ah forget it. In keynesian model, they would've fixed their own nice issue. Laissez faire.

More info about the ratings:

More info about site rating - hey, maybe mista govment shoulda have all sites operating under their jurisdiction to use it, let's create sexless (read: homosexual) children 'coz sex is only for fags and dykes:

News sites aren't blogs. News sites gotta be brow furrowing. Consider teh follwing scenario.
Sunnyday Gossips of Tabloid news protal has this as its today's headlines: "Isambard Kingdom Brunell found lying dead in tunnel. Misconstructed grammars are among other factors that might've been caused the demise of the Brit egghead, The Met is quoted as saying. Share this article on Koobface, Twithead, My Spewk."
Now, are the links to social media sites making sense here? Contextually speaking, not only the links ruin the flow of facts, they also give impressions (to me at least) that the article was written by drunkards or pot smoking teens who often overshare everything who always need somebody else to convince their readers that what they're writing is right. It got pretty damn noticeable on linearized mobile pages, and I don't like it.
Don't worry. Either because of it itself or the way the writer writes it, the story will always find its ways to popularity without those dumb links to nice social meeja sites! News sites gotta be brow furrowing. Seriously.

From The Book of Mozilla, 11:9, 10th Edition (note: type 'about:mozilla' on your Fennec address bar, just like Minimo with different message, to produce this entertaining effect. Chekkit oot.):

[q]Mammon slept. And the beast reborn spread over the earth and its numbers grew legion. And they proclaimed the times and sacrificed crops unto the fire, with the cunning of foxes. And they built a new world in their own image as promised by the sacred words, and spoke of the beast with their children. Mammon awoke, and lo! it was naught but a follower.[/q]

Let's interpret. Mammon is Microsoft, or, we should say Microsoft Internet Explorer. The beast is Mozilla family. Foxes are Firefox. Vengeance smelt in the air.

Unfortunately for IE, the choice not to release the latest version to the outdated but still prominent and widely used OS like XP, makes users switch to its contenders. However, this is not Microsoft's fault, they have to do that for cashflow. Browser doesn't generate profits as much as needed to maintain the project. Maybe IE shall go open source? Learning from .NET I'm a bit pessimistic and rather see things from the bright side: not being number 1 gives IE a break not to be schploited by cyber crooks.

Hail Explorer!
