i miss my k700 too, great phone all rounder, except memory slot and battery life (only 2 days use, and there is no options to save batter life like brightness setting), even no memory slot but it huge enough at that time, at that time most of phone only use 32mb memory or 64mb.

thx to the thief for rob my phone, than i got xphone2 for a big mistake

o, geez...totally forgot about this thread

@djin
Thank you ! I am well now, just had a "little" car crash ...

...well...the urgency....guy laying next to me (broken hip falling of a motorcycle) was about to buy one K700 without seeing it first, so we needed some more info ... and with all the pain killers inside me , this was the the only thing I could think of. Digging through Google results would have been too much for me at that time, especially on Opera Mini

K700 was great. I still have mine, in full working order.

I paid $600 outright for a vodafone branded but unlocked version. Outright unbranded handsets were $800.

Of course I eventually debranded it myself (main advantage was silent camera shutter and use mp3 as ringtones).

This was the first handset from SE that really maxed out the battery - before that the T610 had 2MB memory, 128x128 screen and no mp3 player (or space to keep them). It hardly did anything (but it was cool, another classic.)

K700 was a revolution at the time, large screen, massive internal memory, mp3 player, vga camera. But battery technology still hadn't caught up with the usage that multimedia phones were going to need.

I always charge my phone everynight or very occasionally once in two days. With just normal talk use and sms but no other use, I could get 3-4 days. But for listening to music for an hour or so, bluetoothing a few things a day, using a few j2me apps and games I could get a full day easily, so I never really had a problem with battery life. Sometimes I might have done less BT, java or internet than I would normally if I knew I was going to need to get through an extra day on the same charge.

Never had major joystick probs either, though it did get a bit sticky towards the end which a clean with isopropyl alcohol fixed.

My K700 is still existing up to this time after 2-1/2 years of torture (my sister is using it now btw) my major gripes with it were the battery life, short message inbox, and sometimes joystick. among these major issues i have remedied 2: I brought a 900mah SE K300 battery and it lasted the way it should (3-4 1/2 days standby almost 2 days when in heavy usage) and the joystick with monthly cleaning maintenance using cotton buds and rubbing alcohol made my K700 joystick perfectly responsive up to this time.

K700 was indeed a great phone, it beats 6600 camera hands down (on my personal camera test with that legendary nokia smartphone) K700 SQ that time was excellent, betters even the higher class 7610 (did i say mono ) the display is sharp and crystal clear again better viewing of pictures than 6600 albeit the smaller size. the best of all is that the main menu desktop has 2D animation in it. something that you can't find on any other phones that time.
