In July I was 3 weeks on a car trip in Eastern and Southern Europe. Me and my 2 friends were also on the mountain of Olympus (Greece). Not on the top, but in the first camp at 2060 meters (also known as 2100 m).

The signal of mobile networks was very weak there. Only in one place on the 2060 meters I had a chance to send some sms and receive one call (SE K610i). Despite the weak signal strength the call had a great quality with no hacking.

My friends had Nokia phones and those phones could not log in any network. I was really proud of my SE K610i!

During the trip when we were in a mountainous area, we sometimes checked our mobiles. Quite often we found that my mobile phone had decent or even great coverage, but two Nokias had no network.

In Athens, on the Acropolis I had a chance to make a videocall to my homecountry, but my friends Nokias could not even log in the 3G network.

PS. If I am not wrong, those phones were Nokia E65 and Nokia N76.

Nice.
I'm a big fan of good reception in phones, but that info is hard to come by, generally. Most 'reviews' don't get into it, or don't have a phone long enough to offer a comprehensive review.

It's a good point - I wonder if anyone knows a site that has actually compared the reception on different handsets in a co-ordinated and scientific manner?
