I see nobody is discussing the auto-update OTA, so does that mean even if you jailbreak that apple could force an update to the phone to render it useless, or ban you using the GPS Maps??? or any service that requires it to push to you.

I'm still bitterly disappointed with the new iPhone. It still does not have the basics that come with most other top end phones (N95, TytnII etc). But never-the-less this time round I'm gonna have to go with it. Can't wait any longer for any more additions May even have to switch to O2

N95 & TyTN II may look better in the comparison table, but i can say (owned all of mentioned) that N95 nor TyTN II didnt come even close to iPhone. Yes it depends on the type of user you are, but for me iPhone wins clearly. Watching movies / photos / surfing / mp3 / just playing around / .. - can`t be done better on any other phone right now.

Hi all

Well OK it's confirmed that it has HSDPA but something doesn't make sense as the claim of 2.8 faster then EDGE is a severely cut down HSDPA speeds.

Please some one correct me if I'm wrong but isn't EDGE slower than 3G and 3G is 384kbps and i believe EDGE is 280kbps odd well 2.8x faster then 280kbps is well bellow even 1mbps. Even basic HSDPA is up to 3.6mbps and a lot devices are now coming equipped to support up to 7.2mbps as the networks are rolling out support for this.

So what is happening with the 3G iPhones HSDPA support then? as i for one am confused.

Marc

I'm confused too, and this imgae confuses me even more ...

It'll be like the original then; you can make 30 second snippets of your mp3s and sync them to your phone.

Fully agree with you no that dude - I too had an N95 and have a Vario III (TytnII) - but all apple had to do was add just a couple more things (which would have been a doddle for them) and voila the perfect phone

All I want is HSDPA and a Today Screen. Nout more really

Not strange at all. The iPod touch doesn't have a $50 a month contract for 24 months.

Totally agree mate. I'll deffo get one at that price, when all others on the market are charging around £300+ at release and even after! Maybe it will be the turning point of phone prices? Hopefully...
