in Cydia, should be under the iSpazio repository, which is a community source  Costs €3.99 though - but i think that it's worth it for that. |

well, the price is justified if Medevil really intends to purchase a new bluetooth stack to use instead of iphone´s native crapy one, or doing a complete new one....
that way we will have it running has a backgound process, and other profiles like a2dp, much quicker

yeh, fingers crossed. He should generate a shed load of cash for this, when i checked last night it had 22,000 downloads and even if 10% of those peeps buy it thats a lot of money! |

yes you can access the entire file system, music file transfer will be fantastic!
though receiving music into the ipod app may be a problem bcus of that itunes hashing thing
i am still using the demo license, will wait and see the developments before i decide whether to buy or not |

Or if it's jailbreakable. By the looks of things, this OS will probably come on the new iPhone too, much like the 2.0 release in tandem with the iPhone 3G.
Us jailbreakers should be ok though, as they've fully pwned the 2g touch now forever, so hopefully they'll be building this new OS around that same, exploitable, framework |

And i agree, but i just dont see Apple implementing enough. Backgrounding would be interesting though if that happened. Im sure it'd be massively more efficient than the current JB solution. |

Nothing wrong with what has been implemented in the iPhone, the profiles that are missing have been left out on purpose. I use my iPhone 3G with a Nokia CK-15W BT carkit and the phone tranfers the full range of info including BT name, contact list, battery level, reception quality and operator name, just like my V640i and the connection is very stable. It doesn't work with voice dialing but then neither does my wife's Samsung.
BTW, what are the chances of Apple joining two iPhones together with a hinge to make a netbook? There's heaps of speculation about such a device. If it was the size of the current iPhone I would probably buy it.
I don't see Apple changing the current iPhone much this year, probably just more memory, range of colours and lower price. |

OK.....i need advice. Ive read and read and i still cant decide what to do. I have a locked 3g iphone (never been jailbroken ?) and running 2.1 firmware. At the moment i have no intention of sim unlocking it, but i would like to jailbreak it. My question is, can i download a 2.2 ipsw and just shift/restore in itunes, is it as easy as that ? and then jailbreak the 2.2 firmware, i dont want to upgrade to 2.2.1 at the moment. I really dont want to end up damaging the phone.

well, like it is, it does not support a2dp and other advanced bt profiles at all...the bt stack needs to be updated, by Apple, or 3rd party...that was my point.

Yep, you'll be perfectly safe doing that. The latest version of QuickPwn should be backwards compatible with 2.2 |

Thanks for that Ryan so just to confirm i can get a 2.2 ipsw and just shift/restore through itunes onto my phone running 2.1 that has never been unlocked or jailbroken at all.
