today i tried LG secret and i can tell you one thing, Secret is one of the weakest, non-robust phones i ever have tried. it feelt VERY cheap. it was not good build quality at all.
i compared to a Viewty who the guy inside the store had, it feelt MUCH more robust. (a other strange thing was that Secret was very small, i thought it should be taller and wider. the keypad feelt also very cheap.

compared to C902, C902 feelt unbelievable more robust. obs...im not saying this because im some fan boy, just go and try LG secret yourself and you will understand what im talking about)

here some pics i took inside the store.

i still tried secret today, and it had a very cheap feeling on the chassi, try it yourself and you will understand.

Yes? The cheap feeling may be one thing. But if you buy a phone just for the build quality you should look at a used ericsson r310 or a Nokia 3310. If you look at the features when you buy a phone, and compare c902 and secret, the secret wins.

lil' OT: The k850 hasn't got excellent buildquality. Dust under the lens, loose screenglass, squeeky backcover and loosy batteryhatch.

ps. i have own two k850. non of them had any BROD or restarts.
(the one i have works awesome + good pic-quality, what more can i ask for ????

Well great/lucky for you, but there is a pretty large chance that if you buy a k850 it will be faulty in some way.

Seriously? I've got the impression (from reviews and posts in different forums videos on youtube) that it looks and feels classy. That scratch resistant tempered glass on the front is a nice touch. Should make that part of the phone durable. Seen videos where a guy tries to scratch the the glass with keys and fails.

You did try a real phone and not a dummy on display at that store?

Can anyone else confirm that the phone feels that "non-robost"?

looks good, yes a little maybe, BUT really, go to your local cell phone store and feel it. the build quality is very weak (strangley). i compared to viewty and viewty feelt much more robust.

maybe its because its a slider. sliders is (of course) not so robust as a regular (viewty) phone.

Incoming, your impression is true, it’s very robust with high tech materials, go to a shop and you will have the confirmation (there are BIG difference between slide and slide, for ex.N95 has a weak slide, Secret’s slide is one of the best).
Plank, you are the only person around several forums that think Secret has weak quality:
From gsmarena:
“We are delighted with the build quality and handling of LG Secret. The top notch materials used do make a difference. The rather heavy weight, considering the otherwise compact size, makes the handset a pleasure to hold and control.”

I find the appearance of the LG Secret appealing, as well as the specs. I hope that the phone I try at the store, gives a favorable impression with regards to build quality and feel.

I've never owned a slider phone, only the candy bar type. The sliders I have tried ranged from very solid to horrible (a N95 classic with a loose slider).
I've also encountered candy bar phones that creak when held in hand without even squeezing the phone.

There always is something that can ruin the experience, especially after some months of use when the phone can appear a bit second-hand if there are some weaker elements in its casing.

The camera on the C902 is great, especially at outside pics. And the mobile itself is so much better than the K850, even the camera. And the fotoflash LED is amazing, so bright! One real big downside is that SE didnt include the torch ability, but its easily fixed, just go to videomode and turn on the torch

Thought I would show you some pics from my C902:
