My W810i, while being a great little phone, is causing me a really annoying problem, which has not been fixed after I recently updated the firmware using SEUS.

The phone has a problem when automatically storing text messages, for example, when messages are put in the inbox or sent folders. I have found that occasionally messages that I have received, after reading them, do not appear in the inbox. Messages that I have deleted weeks previously often reappear in my inbox, either at both the top and bottom of my list, or at the bottom only. Sometimes messages reappear but as a different sender, and even say that the received date is in the future. On occasion, messages that I have sent have not appeared in the sent folder. It keeps surprising me with new weird things it comes up with. It's as if the phone has a virus, but I've no idea how it could have got one.

Does anybody know if this is a known problem, and any ideas how I can fix it?

No virus at all.
Check whether the date & time settings are correct?
Incorrect date can cause these problem. [addsig]

The date and time are set correctly, and have been all along. I would have thought that it would be a bigger issue?

It's messed up i guess.. My W810 sometimes merges two text messages into one, which includes halves of the original messages!

Would a master reset make any difference? And, if so, how do I go about doing so?

I've tried a master reset, which, so far, seems to have sorted the problem, although it is a little early to say for sure.

Re-installing the phone firmware is called flashing you know. it's done by replacing the MAIN and FS files of the phone (the firmware)... Then customization is needed aswell.
