Well they appear to be only cosmetic sratches. Not a big deal in my book.

What other type of scratch is there, other than cosmetic? It look to me like dirt gets stuck in the sliding mechanism and scratches the phone.

Puts me off entirely.

i noticed on my s500, that the slider scratched the green material on the back. Yes it was a common problem amongst most s500i owners. How ever, from time to time (quite often actually) id just be sitting their opening/closing the slider, there for, scratching my phone quicker! That was the 2nd s500 i owned. The first one i had, i didnt do what i did as above, only opened the slider when i needed, only for sms/phone book search, and the green material didnt have any scratches. Maybe over time they would have appeared, but again, because i didnt slide up phone often on the first, they didnt appear as quick as the 2nd hadnset.

Guess this will be the same for the c902i, try not slide the camera up for no reason, only when you want to use it, and it should be fine. After time though, a few scratches may appear.............. not saying this will happen, just a though

I Highly Doubt whether this slide mechanism is going to live up to expectations .Gsmarena say its got no spring assist or whatever (althought its beta).Dust can get inside.Sliding mechanism can become loosy on prolonged usage. And i think the keypad backlighting is also very Poor judging From various videos and pictures i think it wont be fixed in final version either.coupled with 2 inch ,Very Poor se
Very Poor implementation

No it would be biggest disappointment if the image quality doesn't match up to other latest 5mp camera like samsung u900 soul and N95 8s.We have to wait and see if Se does some stupidity with software either as with w760i

Well I meant it doesn't look like it's going to affect the mechanism. It's a phone for Pete's sake, not jewelry.

So what if it has 4.2mm? This has nothing to do with the image quality right?

Yeah, true, but I like to keep my phones nice looking and scratch free. It means I don't want a new phone so soon, other people are envious of my phone (lol), and when it comes time to sell it, the price I can ask isn't too affected by the condition of the phone. A company shouldn't be releasing a product which is easily damageable or damages itself due to poor engineering!

On the top picture both of the scratches are on the same spot of both phones-hmm... Could it be the actual mechanism scratching the material? End of coffee break engineers!
I think/hope this will be fixed by the release. But sure-a visit to a sand filled beach and ouch!

Lets just hope that that cosmetic scratch issue be fixed in time for c902's release. i think has learned from the problems of cracking keys in s500 and camera dust in k850..
