lol, to be perfectly frank, I actually agree with those guys at O2, and I would have said the same thing

Think about it, yes all of you on here want the best from your tech, but in the huge grand scheme of things, you're a teeny tiny percentage of the mobile phone market. I do think that yes, O2 should bump up the speed for everyone, but I understand why they've done it. We're under really heavy pressure from Ofcom to up our 3G coverage, and their working on it pretty hard, but to stop the current 3G network collapsing whilst their doing that, it kinda makes sense to keep people tied down for a bit.

Look at the mobile market as a whole, you guys make up a tiny portion of it, and you guys want fast data. Fine, call them up, you'll get it. However, look at everyone else and how THEY use data, I bet you they a) don't have two figs what 128kbps means and b) they don't give two flying monkeys what it means anyway. As far as their concerned, they've got internet on their phone and their content.

Think about the big customer picture and a business point of view, not just people who use it like yourselves.

Hi all

Well i have to say i feel very lucky that 02 totally mucked up my E90 order whilst taking my money 2 weeks before the intended dispatch of my device contrary to what they said they would do. As feel i have had a really lucky escape and personally feel this behavior is outrageous especially as it has taken some to discover rather than 02 being up front about it, their Data plans don't look so good now do they especially if you have a HSDPA handset.

What is worse is the way the are saying to all their users that spend less than £35 pm you are 2nd rate users, i hope many of them churn now to Networks where they are treated better and get what they pay for.

@Daedalus85

I kinda agree with what your saying but what services do most (the big 5 anyway)
now provide:
Calls,
Texts & now
Data.

Using the same phone & same pm account could i pay for my calls & texts on O2 but pay for my Data usage via Orange say? NO. I'd still have to suffer O2's data package/rates.
So if another network offers the same Calls & texts packages as O2 (which they all offer about the same these days) but offers better data usage pm/unrestricted speed etc where are you going to go....exactly!

As if the whole 'unlimited' thing isn't a bit of an 'exaggerated' con, you're limited '3G' data use is capped @128kb/s?

The main problem is that if you call them up to be put on the "full speed" option, that still means HSDPA-enabled phones aren't running at full speed!

Also, given that EDGE can achieve speeds not far off 384Kbps (plus Nokia say they can double the speed of EDGE with a software update to the basestation), their 3G isn't as cutting edge as they would like you to think!

Just how fast is 3.5g?

it works on Vodafone really well,
what im finding though is £25 data charges when my bloomin phones ment to be connected to Wi-Fi, it's somehow swapping connections!

btw Edge is ok for you 02 users why moan?,

Greggy I was using my mothers Z310i on 02's Prepay service for longer then 10mins and it never cut off!

I think you should change your sim card!

Greggy still get a new sim card there free anyway

lol im knda glad I left 02 looking at the above issue,
I couldn't even tell my phone was connected to what looking at the charges,
btw I found the reason out, my virgin media went down and my phone resorted to Voda live and I didn't even no

ive just added the data add on incase it happens again,
Vodafone kept telling me I don't use enough to have it on my account,
hence there way of making money I think

the 3.5g is really fast though,
Voda live works perfect on the N95-2 aswell alot better then the E65 was!

U need to get ya facts right. Ive been told by a guy at an o2 shop that all payango users have this 10min cut off coz they use a proxy. Contract users dont and use a different way of connecting. OK!!! END OF ARGUMENT!!
