The W705 is nothing special and both colours are ugly!

SE disappoints me always! Always the same shit only in other case!

The next copy of the G705 is the C705.

This time last year the W890i was announced, surely that warrants replacing as is quite a big seller - Slim, metal Walkman under 10mm.

The Portfolio will be contracting next year according to Dicky so we should see fewer but nicer handsets.

I was thinking about the future of UIQ. Everybody knows it was abandoned by SE and then by Motorola. But there is nothing there on uiq.com about discontinuation of OS.

I know It will be discontinued when first UI from Symbian Foundation will see the light. What about uiq showroom? Their ideas of new UI?

I've read this document:

http://www.symbianfoundation.org/files/WhitePaper.pdf

And there is this section:

The Symbian Foundation platform embraces and combines proven technologies and software assets to provide the most complete, and consistent mobile platform.
The initial contributed assets to the Symbian Foundation platform are:
• Symbian
• S60
• UIQ
• MOAP(S)
These software assets are to be contributed to the foundation by Fujitsu, Motorola, Nokia, NTT DOCOMO and Sony Ericsson along with related tools and documentation.
[b]On launch of the foundation, which is expected in the first half of 2009, all contributed assets will be available under the foundation’s royalty-free license. Device manufacturers will be shipping devices based on the foundation’s assets from launch of the foundation.[b]
A new platform is then to be formed from Symbian OS and S60 with selected UIQ and MOAP(S) technologies integrated.

What about text in bold? Am I wrong or does it mean that they can do some more stuff with UIQ or MOAP or S60? And when the new unified UI will be completed they stop using these "contributed assets"?

If somebody knows something about it can you confirm this or not?
I am not here and I am not there. Where am I?

one more day til this thread is locked... probably long overdue.

i believe what mizz and the others mean is that the inclusion of that particular headset with the phone (which uses a fastport to connect) contradicts the inclusion of a 3.5mm on the phone.

so yes, they are serious.

I thought SE was gonna stop recycling parts and just changing the product name....

Huge disappointment again.

only good phones out this year from were C702, W980, X1 and C905
the rest did not intrest me, i would like to put C902 in the list but i didnt like that small screen size and cam icons didnt make much difference they could have just stuck with the icons on the key pad and gave it a 2.2" screen i would just go out and buy it right now insead of still keeping my 2 yaar old K790 till now

please SE, give me X2.same design(or better) as X1.just upgrade the cam to 5mp CCD , S60, if possible thinner(if same as X1 still ok), walkman player 4.0,8gb with expandable memory, amoled screen(for better battery saving as well), keep the 30 fps video record, great UI, finger touch.....throw it for a bit expensive, surely i'll buy...

it is not impossible right for all this demand??
