i'm sorry nothing too impressive here... maybe the n95 8gig but but we already knew that was coming... and it's just a minor tweaking of the n95 (but a worthy one)

the n81.. looks nice in pictures but it's nasty in real life....

otherwise the 2 music phones are just midrangers nokia has to release to battle in the music department...

oh man, i am so going to buy the n95 8GB
it is so much better than N95 (I think) cause it has a way better design, a bigger screen, a much better battery and the camera will (probably) be a bit better than th one in n95

How do the design differ?
Ae you saying you prefer black over grey? It's not design.
The sligthly bigger screen? You could hardly call that a design change.

And for the better quality camera, I woudn't get my hopes too high on this one.

sorry, i meant colour and yes, i do prefer black and so do many others.
I wouldnt call the screen slightly bigger, cause 2,8 is bigger than 2,6 and when you are wacthing movies on it, you can see the difference.
And about the camera: it will probably have the latest firmware, which means a bit changes

i am sure you are happy with your P1i....haha...

dream on, dream on...

sorry didn't want to be rude, but nokia manages to IMPROVE their phones, sony ericsson just gives them other keypads and other lens covers...wow...the N95 8GB is different, 8 GB space, a huge 2.8" screen...i would say it's a huge improvement over the existing one

@aksd and all,

Sorry but i really think some of you have really missed the point this whole presentation is not just about the launch of 4 new devices and a Music store and mobile game platform. It really is about so much more than this it is about the integration of of many services that until now we have needed to be at a PC to utilise. Of course the new devices are exciting and the specs impressive but this really is about an evolution of mobile devices and services and what we can expect to be able do with our mobile devices.

I think many of us should wait until the full reports start to be written up on the various Forums for the full picture to start to emerge. The roll out of these services will begin in Q4 and will continue to evolve dependant on what we the consumers want and use.

As to 3 and Orange not wanting to stock the N81 well sorry but that really means nothing as these services are going to be available to every N series device and may even filter down to non N series devices in time. It is nothing more than 3 and Orange tring to keep their users trapped into to using their own Music download services to protect their revenues.

If 3 and Orange intend to no longer run any Nokia N series devices i really think that will alienate a huge amount of their current customers and the idea that these customers will continue to remain with a Network that no longer offers them the devices and services these devices are going to offer is highly unlikely. No user likes to be dictated to and forced to use only the services their network dictates they can, 3 only started to really grow once they took down there walled garden for Internet access and allowed their users freedom of choice. IMO it would be an extremely brave and foolish Network that decided to no longer stock any Nokia N series phones.

Marc

lol you're funny... those improvements are minor on a phone that was already high-speced..it's an minor upgrade but a worthy one as i said.. and one i would get if the price is right...i like the n95 the only issues i had with it were ram, battery and build... and i know at least 2/3 have been fixed here

strip it down..

n95 8gig adds more ram, bigger screen, bigger battery and UI tweaking..
p1i adds more ram, better screen, bigger battery and UI tweaking..

i'm not here to start a war.. just not impressed with the lineup i was hoping to see the n82 as everyone has been talking about the n95 8gb for 3 weeks now...

I'm quite happy with my p1i but i'm not sure what relevance that has to this thread

Have anyone noticed the N95-8Gb top slide is now flushed with the bottom? Looks like N95-8Gb has solved the "memory full" problem for power user.

let's hope every smartphone going forward has this solved.. 128 ram should be ok for all devices in the next year or so i think...it would be silly if for example the n81 only had 64.

@Dogmann

My mistake, I misunderstood your post earlier, I assumed/thought that you were talking highly for the N81 for what it is, not what it represents. I fully agree with you, with the latest launch of their products(services/phones etc.) Nokia have obliterated the competition by raising the stakes, they have single handedly revolutionised the mobile market in the last year, something like Sony Ericsson did with the K750 a few years ago but on a much grander scale. At the top of my mind I really cant think what more I'd want in a phone at the moment, but one area where they could improve, I know you'll disagree with me on this one is the basic OS. The best way to go would be the Linux way if you ask me, at the moment I'm using a ROKR E6, contrary to what many think the OS is wonderful, I write tiny programs for whatever I want personally. If the N95 had a totally open OS like linux it would be a dream phone and the possibilities infinite.

well the N95 has 8GB (which i can get a card for soon).
The only plus point is the larger screen. (Does it have higher resolution like the N80?)

One thing I hate is the lack of camera cover (which is needed in my opinion).

I need to see more detailed specs like ram and speed to make a final judgement, but otherwise, I might just flash my N95 with the 8GB firmware.

edit: Just noticed people saying it comes with 128.
The N95 comes with 64mb and 22free (realistically you end up with 11-15mb free), so I'd imagine the N95 8GB gets 44 free with 22-30 free (which is great because no more memory errors)

The only thing is, i wish they kept the buttons the same. The keys are already a bit small, not they're tiny.

I also like the flat buttons rather than the raised ones.
Is the phone thicker?
