Power down. Remove your SIM, back in Power On - though you've probably already done that. Remove the SIM. Call in get Tech support Tier 2. NO WAY should it take 24hrs! Busy or NOT its too long and obsurd. You should demand from customer service pro-rating charge of LESS 1 day if that happens. Regardless of their policy you're paying for no service on that 24hr period. However, Tier 2 should be able to solve it with a quick review of your billing setup then check the switch accordingly.

Then SIM in, power on, auto register with network (or HRT) and you should be sorted in the good.

Allow me step in, again.

I just stated, it can take up to 24 hours, this is the UK and you're in Canada. Different networks, different rules and regulations etc.

It's 24 hours, like it or lump it

cheers guys

phoned tech support this morning, asked me to do all the stuff i had already tried like powering down, sending register message through HRT etc

then came back and said they cant find my sim profile on their systems or something like that, been escalated and could take upto 72 hours to hear back, not happy with t-mob, wish i had gone with o2 now but chose t-mob due to 1GB wnw allowance rather than o2's 200MB limit, as i know i use around 500MB or more usually with downloading podcasts etc

Put it this way, with BlackBerry you don't really use up a standard amount of data like you would on a regular handset, as it's all compressed, much like Vodafone did/does with their mobile Internet.

Having said that, this is what I heard from a BlackBerry expert who works in the business, so it's not my words, but most people have a tough time going over their O2 data limit with BlackBerry.

As for T-Mobile not activating it, I would say "pff, bloody idiots, god their so slow", but I know that all mobile networks can, and have, been like this for many years.

Think of the sheer number of new contracts they do every day, theres bound to be a couple that slip through the net. It happens, but they always rectify it.

Differing rules & regulations of a provider does NOT affect the Blackberry/RIM rules and setup, along with CORE GSM setup. If it takes 24hrs its ridiculous; Not your fault and I understand more users are on at least 1 of the UK providers than say ALL for providers here in Canada for ALL phones hehe. But at least we offered help on both sides of the same coin. Cheers.

I figured as much with something with your IMSI on the switch = your profile. Since you couldn't make calls in/out because of the SIM error you're getting I suggested contacting Tier 2 support; customer service is just a different lower level - nothing against them.

Can some one out there please explain how to get BBmaps back on my 8310. It was originally a Voda handset but has been unlocked. BBmaps worked fine on 4.2 but does not appear on 4.5(even tho it is installed?) If i try and install the latest version OTA or anyother way it tells me that i have the wrong OS?

I've read that i can install an older version but can't find a link to it anywhere?

I may be seeing it wrong but that screenshot that you posted on shows you used about 58MB not 483.86mb.

I got me a used 8800 yesterday. Cant use it properly at the moment as its pin is still registered with the previous owner so am getting his emails. Waiting for seller to get back to me now.

He's right actually, that is around 58 or 59MB, so nowhere near 458MB lol, so yes, it DOES compress as well as we thought.
