For some reason I doubt it, purely because A) it's cheaper for SE not to include it, B) SE will probably be pushing for accessories (like stereo speakers) which provide better output quality and C) to save battery life

All firmwares are bound to be buggy to an extent. It's a matter of quality vs time to reach market. Stable firmwares take longer (not in the case of the P990  ) to reach market.

We've already got that don't we? Most SE phones have Bluetooth 2.0, and so will all new phones to come (even Z310).

edit: we havn't seen any high-end calmshell from  scince Z800, so is it possiple that ther r going to introduce one at the 1Q

Hey what do people reckon about SE implementing dual card slots (microSD and M2) in the one phone?
If the theory is right that SE will continue to use features found in their Japanese phones in their European ones, it wouldn't seem so bad to think that we may see one in the future. They might use it to lull users of other brands into using SE phones.

Dual Card slots is ridiculous!
Why not use a Multi slot?! Jus one like newer WinXP laptops have & card readers. 1 multi chip interface design with less hardware space & also less motherboard space.
I'm hoping that MicroSD & M2 will be implemented for imperopperability along with slim size and power efficiency.

BT 2.0 EDR has been in phones like he K750 > transfer speed may be with the other connected device using only 1.2 version which is max 720 but most applications on PC wont go that fast.
I'd really like to see SE's version of MS Smartphone Edition. If anyone can remember what Sony did for PALM OS then you'd know what I'm imagining. But I know now that will never happen. So Non-Touch Screen UIQ3. |

man I do hope so (NON Touch Screen UIQ3 will be a direct competitor for S60 making Symbian more interesing).
But for it to succeed is a quality screen, very fast & power efficient cpu.(more on that later). Furthermore UIQ3 apps will need to be tweaked to take advantage of 1 handed navigation.
however, I feel that SE should be looking at power efficient cpu's more multi core designs that can take care of ARM6/9 calculations, along with memory card reading & writing tasks, along with normal functions of input/output. Most importantly the GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA should be also handled on the same die as the cpu. Economies of scale makes plain sense > especially for repairs.
Plus i'd like to see more 3D video cards implemented into newer devices NOT just the Cybershot Video Recording rumored phone or the Bravia phone. but in ALL top tier models maybe a choice of two video chips both supporting 3D but more powerful 3D for the ultimate top tier devices and a cheaper model for the mid tier more marketed top end devices.

apparently the 3d graphics chip was only implemented in one SE phone, the sweet W900i and i THINK the P990, correct me if i'm wrong.

yerp the w900 and p990 had nvidia goforce....
There is a newer version of that graphics chip though, and i am unsure if any mobile makes use of it now.
Maybe will use it in the near future.... hmmmm |

The reason for the use of M2 is to cut down on the size of the memory stick slot so that space is used more efficiently. It was developed for mobiles. I doubt that SE would move 'backwards' and the only reason why the W850 used the old type was because it was in development for a while.
Just like why SD isn't used in Nokia phones, even large phones like the N93.

and i really hope that SE will include this new chipe in thair new devices
btw im new to SE iv been using nokia for 10 years (24.12 i turned 19)
and my first SE was The incredible w800 which i bought last year
and thats how my intrest in SE devices began the U.I is great :
easy, beautifly made graphic-wise ,the handsets are stylish and from high quality
the only thing SE needs to work on in my opinion is thair screens becuase sony is behind these mobiles and sony is well known from its screens (not to mention thair gaming platforms ps2,psp,ps3)and in my case sometimes my w800 puts me down when some backgrounds looks like thair lakeing some colore.
ow and one more thing i really hope that the gaming phone rumore will be confirmed and thanks to shaliron for the great thread. |
