I think any of those three could easily win the competition, as well is your actual entry! Looks like you've been holidaying!
Nice shots carkitter!

Thanks! All the Locations are within 30mins drive of where I live and I did travel to Orewa with the intention of finding something to post in the comp. I didn't get to snap my ideal photo which would have been waves crashing against the seawall at Murrays Bay. The light/weather conditions/tides/time available just didn't align. I'll try for that another time.

Well you're lucky to live near such beautiful places! I guess I do too here in Chch, but I never visit them. Should be going to the beach next week though, so I might take some shots!
Though, I've just bought a new Sony digital camera so perhaps I will use that instead

Took the family out to East Auckland today for some swimming.
Visited Bucklands Beach, Musick Point and Eastern Beach - fantastic weather!

That concrete structure is a former Army Bunker. All mountains overlooking the Waitemata Harbour have them because in 1900 they believed the Russians were coming to invade us. Apparently the Army used to place targets on the harbour and practiced shooting at them from gun emplacements on certain mountains. They never managed to hit the target once! Good thing the Russians never came...

It was a great shot you took with the cliffs framing the mountain in the distance like that. And taken from a boat too!
There is a one-day photography course being held at a local college up here on Sat Feb 23rd; think I go along and learn a few things

Cheers carkitter
Are you going to take along your V630i to the photography course? I wonder what they'd think of that!

I take my V630i EVERYWHERE, thank you very much! My wife thinks it's permanently attached
But seriously, I was thinking about that today, and wasn't really sure what to take. My V630i which I take all my pics on, my wife's old style film camera, or our Sony DVD Video Camera which takes 1Mp still shots onto MSDP. Shes talking about getting a compact digicam with her FlyBuys points but I don't think she'll get one before mid Feb though.

Auckland, New Zealand actually. Right about here
We've had some outstanding weather here lately as you can see. It's the height of summer in our little tropical paradise.

You don't have much to choose from there... Maybe you could go with nothing and just pick up a few tips? They might even have some cameras you can borrow.
