Using globe telecoms here in the Philippines, the rates are as follows:

$0.11 or PhP15 per 15 min.

KB BROWSING

Smart Network's (Phils) standard rate for mobile internet usage, P10 per 30 minutes, that makes 20/hour..this is for prepaid users.

here in Manila , for prepaid users (about 90% or more of the mobile user population), there are unlimited period-based plans. PHP 50.00 for 24 hours ( ~1 euro), PHP 300 for 7 days (~5.4 euros) & PHP 1,200 for 30 days (~21.6 euros).

There are no crazy restrictions on tethering as in the US, so you can use your mobile as a 3G modem for your laptop/netbook. With the right software & if the phone has wifi capability, you can even create a mini-hotspot.

$7 per month, UNLIMITED mobile browsing.

One catch though. I need to use a dumb phone (no smart phones), FROM my provider.

I stick to Sony Ericssons!

Aircel India charges 10p ($0.0018)/10KB for 3G and GPRS as base charge. Other than that there is a Rs. 98 ($1.75) GPRS pack with unlimited usage for a month. I haven't used any 3G pack yet.
