Well problem is, I've tried to let my hair grow long, but instead it just gets thick and bushy and it really annoys me, so I can't get that indie look that I'm after....

Any ideas?

Cheers

PS Soz if this gets a bit gay! lol

Go to a decent hairdresser and ask for it to be thinned out, but using scissors not razor cutting, then you can have the indie look you want, it needs to be thinned before you can do anything with it, otherwise it will grow out instead of down!!

Dont let them razor cut it as that makes thick hair even worse!

on the product thing i reccoment wax. i think clay is the best but its expensive. and always use a really small amount of it, so it doesnt just clump up. =] [addsig]

garneir "surf hair" paste is what i use but it all depends what look your going for. my hair is styled like i just got back from the beach

^is for fine hair^,it makes it look nice
But if you want something stronge too
use Joico - Ice Spiker, new wave freeze gel (>500 might have heard of this - trust me within 20secs your hands are hard because it instantly drys and holds the style as you want

now if you want your hair to realy stand out (AND my hair is VERY thick! so i know these products/steps work below)
do this
spray schwarkopf osis+ flatliner flatening iron serum
onto your then get a hair straightener and straighten your hair the way you want it to look

then get fudge matte head - firm hold texturising matte paste:hold factor 9
press it twice onto your fingers (you'll see what i mean)rub it all over both your hands then start one hand at the back and one at the front and rub it it in moving in to the centre and back again (will give and even spread):)

next, once youve styled it
spray on fudge membrane gas - strong hold fixing gas:hold factor 10
spray it evenly through your hair:)

know these products arent cheap (the three i use and mentioned above)
they will set you back, but are well worth the money if you want any ideas im your guy to holla:D lol

oh and heres a photo of my hair - pity i dont have a better one but i will be gettin another haircut soon;)

Usually if I want to change the hair style I will buy the cheap hair wigs at the online shop so that it will neither cost me a lot and I can reach the goal of change my hair style easily. And just a week before I bought one wigs for white women online and it makes me look better.
