All my life i have had extremly basic phones so now i thought id invest in something more than just a phone, so i spent my money on a w800.
When i started it for the first time the phone keept freezing after a few seconds evrytime the screensaver whent on. I dissabled the screensaver but the same thing happens. It just freezes up.
I sent it away to get it repaired and it came back. The technician had "custumized it and updated it to the latest firmware (005)"
I brought it home yesterday and the same thing happens. The phone keeps freezing up.
I went to the SE website to use the updater and surely it told me i had the latest firmware. I then told it to put the phone back to its original state instead of updateing the firmware thinking that might help, erasing evrything ans start fresh.
When i run the program and it tells me to insert the USB cable while pressing C the recovery doesnt start. It just says "waiting..."
The same thing happens when i try to update to the latest firmware (it asks me if i want to update anyways even tho i have the latest).
I then used the option in the phone that said "complete recovery" (roughly translated).
Syncronising the phone with my computer works and transfering music to the phone works aswell.
Does anyone know how to fix the problem with the phone freezing up?
And am I doing something wrong while trying to update the phone through the sony ericsson website? (i have installed all drivers and programmes it asked me to install).
I dont feel like sending the phone away for a second repair and most likely get it back with nothing done again. And getting a new phone is almost impossible since they are very hard to come by here in sweden. |

Welcome to the forum!
My phone used to freeze up to, until I turned off the sleep mode clock (it's in settings). I did that over a month ago, and it hasn't frozen since. You might want to try that.

I have never had the same problem with mine. If you have only just got the phone then you are within your rights to ask for a new phone that works.
Checkout my photos at My Website"Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together." |

I changed sleeper clock to off aswell, it was one of the first things i tried but the problem is still there.
I would go back to the store and ask for a new phone if they had any. The w800 is sold out evrywhere and the store i bought it from doesnt have any more in stock.
