I have a question for those who have P990 equipted with 4GB memory stick.

When you click on memory stick tab in Video does it take about 4,5 sec to open the video folder? I have some music videos and 3 full movies, each taking around 400-500mb. Once i see all videos moving between them is kind of slow. Is that a normal thing? I can open a movie in a second or two, seeking is fast too. Only thing that bothers me is the speed in the video folder. Any clues?

I have a 4Gb memorystick myself and there's no delay at all when i click the memorystick tab in Video, and I've used up about 85% of it with 9 full videos, pics, docs and heaps of mp3s. So you can see it's pretty heavy. Maybe you should try formatting your memorystick

Yes, I understand that. What I don't like is while I use the headphones as an antenna the cables are always tangled which later takes me 10 minutes to sort out. So why not just supply a length of cable (without the ear pieces) ? Would make life much easier...
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD

@makbil
Well, you don't need to untangle the phones (a "lengths of cable" would get tangled too...) Just plug them in and then redirect the sound to the phone speaker

But that's not what I want. If I'm going to use the BT stereo headset I still need to plug in the cable headset and with the earpieces dangling around there is a high possibility of destroying them. If it was a simple piece of wire I could just forget about it without being concerned about ripping off the ear pieces.

I have seen some theme previews, and spotted a icon/program messenger with MSN Live messenger. So i am asking you if anyone has that application or knows where to get it. Below is the picture..

I'm quite sure DarkSlayer (of www.se-uiq.com) made that screen shot, he can be seen here on Esato sometimes.
Anyway, the icon resolution (being a bit pixelized) gives it away as a Java app, so probably not an app made specifically for P990.

its my first time to take out the flip cover on my p990. I did not do this before because i observed that the letters on each key are not engraved but printed so i was heisitant as i know, keys like this will wear out so instantly. Am i right?

for those who used their p990 without the flip, does the printed letters fade away? please post obeservation coz its really difficult to find replacement for parts. cheers

firetech: thank you.

I was thinking about something. Probably it`s nothing but maybe it can help someone at SE when releaseing a new FW. Although a little optimistic...

I have a game on my P990i called Chess Professional.. The thing is that when P990i comes out of opening or maybe sooner, it starts to work real slow. With computer chess programs it is RAM that plays the biggest role and then processor. Dont know how it is with mobile applications/games of this sort.

The thing is that i also had this application running on my M600i and it worked flawlessly. So what does M600i have that P990i doesnt?

Some people are timing boot time, run benchmark appz, .. beside those things i am using chess pro; and hope that with this latest FW it will start to work as it should..

Any clues?

i've been a user of p-series since p800 was introduced. now i have the four p-series phones and it's quite frustrating that my p800 is a lot more stable than my p990.my p990 cant even handle the process of letting my messages and media player run at the same time.just two of my much needed apps.and the wifi..it's horrible..yes it supports wifi but that's just it..just a fact. tried connecting wirelessly..opened 2 html pages..and the phone restarted itself.it can only open as many as 4 html pages and the web application will be killed.hehehe..amazing..it also supports auto start feature!

checked in swiss manager pro, the phone has 62mb of ram but why the heck do we only have 14mb ram available for our apps and 7mb ram left by the end of the day? maybe if somebody can design a software to define a variable amount of internal memory to be used as additional ram, then p990 would be the greatest phone that i ever had!

Adolfo,
You have just confirmed something for me, thank you. My latest firmware P990i also crashes to a white screen which means a battery pullout almost everytime I use Wifi and I have decided to return it to Expansys for a refund and get something else. I had the P800, the P910i and three of these and this is definitely the worst I've had.
I was undecided until I read your post and now it's going back.

well, you really should think better because adolfos experience is not at all similar to mine, or most of us here...opening media player and messaging at same time is trivial, etc. Alsoi wonder why you say you have to pull out the battery, because pressing the power button for more than 10 secs will always reboot the phone

ares is right..i have this experience, and you might have a different one.but dont get me wrong..believe it or not i still have all my four p-series phones with me.and im not giving up on any of them..my p800 is already soaked with coke in my car's cupholder and washed it with mineral water to remove the acid. my p900 already climbed down the stairs all by itself.. my p910i got its free-fall chest high when i tried to put it in my chest pocket and missed! but all of them is still working perfectly fine..i love p-series and i aint goin to sell any of them.

for those who enjoy their p990, need help here if that's the case. i have this software version:

phone R4B001
BT R4F01
organizer R2A04
CDA CDA162007/2 R2A01

what am i missing?
