I sent an email to expansys asking when they would be getting the P800 because on their site they were still quoting late August - Early September, I got the following reply:

"Good afternoon sir

We should have the delivery with 14 days . We still dont know the price.

Many thanks

Expansys "

Incidentally I phoned SE directly and asked if the P800 will have T9 and they said yes. When I had a quick go with it in CPW without T9 I did find entering text for an SMS slow compared with a predictive text phone. Most people can walk down the street typing an SMS, I think I would find that rather difficult with a stylus and touchscreen!

I sure hope there will be T9 in it. Why, I need T9 in it, you say?
Because T9 is faster, easier and requires less attention in use, than multitap.
And writing on the touch screen, either you need a surface to have the phone on or then you need both hands, not that good if you're driving and need to reply to a sms...

@Froddan

You do NOT reply to an sms when driving a car. Only the most stupid man would do that.

It's not forbidden here. And it happens that I reply to an sms while driving, not often, but it happens.
Anyway, the bottom line is that T9 is more convinient in use.

Guys guys .. dun need to get worked up. P800 has 2 versions ... P800 is euro version which I am sure they would implement the T9 function and P802 is the asia version with chinese input so thats the one without the t9. very good examples are t68m and t68mc ... m has t9 .. mc does not ..

@Froddan

It is not forbidden here either but it is just of security reasons I bring it up. I don't want anyone to get hurt.

Yea, it's legal in Sweden, at least so far. And with the help of T9, it takes less of your attention than the car stereo does. You hardly have to look at the text, and you can hold the phone at windshield height to have a quick look.
