Sealover will be back soon!

On a serious note it is a shame SE aren't going to finish with 2.2. It would make sense if they updated to 2.2 and left it as that.

2.1 has made a massive update to the phone but the lag on it is crazy at times - 2.2 would have corrected this, plus we would have had flash and memory card install and wifi-hotspot function.

I suppose deep down we all know SE were going to this way, it's a blatant sign that they've finished with the X10. Our only hope is the rumoured MT update in Q1 (hopefully SE won't drop this as well) and maybe some internal updates to improve performance, but I'm not holding out for this.

It's a real shame as many others have pointed out the device has plenty of potential, but Arc is SE's new thing now so X10 owners pay the price for the painful wait for 2.1.

On a positive note Arc does look nice, the screen looks great. I just hope it's not as finger point smudgey as the X10. I'd be interested to see how good the photos are compared to the X10 - other than that they're be no real reason for me to update to it.

After ARC nobody is going to remember us

Alright. I'll be honest, I really liked Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. It's got a very slim design and also has several features outside like HDMI/USB etc. I really liked the style, it's very innovative and the fact it's so slim.

Talking about features, it's got the latest Android version. I really don't need to say much as we all know it's got loads of features compared to X10. Also a big boost having BRAVIA Mobile Engine, Reality Display, Exmor R Mobile. I think Xperia Arc has got itself into a very good competitive market of smartphones and does stand out pretty well. Not to forget it's got good performance 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, Adreno 205 GPU. All in all it looks FAB!

This is one of the reasons I have been buying Sony Ericsson for years now. They are right up there but missing out on few features really gets messed up. Like Multi-touch and Android latest version on X10 was a big drawback while X10 is a beautiful phone. I own it and I proudly own it. I love X10 and I think it's one of the best phones in the market. It's got great UI experience which Sony Ericsson delivers it.

I wished it had a Front Facing Camera and 4G. All my hopes are on MWC where Sony Ericsson might launch 3 other devices.

But this is a great Smartphone. Kudos to

Indiandawg Saw pics on GSMArena of the Arc and it is another sexy offering from SE.They sure make good looking phones.
I agree about X10.Gonna swallow the bitter pill and just enjoy it to the fullest. My second contract (iphone 3G) comes up in March but I think Im going to terminate it and keep the X10 till June 2012.Even if we dont get Froyo I think I can still enjoy it.

Sucks about the no 2.2 update i must say but a part of me still just likes this phone a lot, im still happy with it, it's such a capable device it's a shame SE dont feel that way. I like the Arc and the sad part is i think i would actualy take the SE Arc if my upgrade was this year despite SE almost ditching us X10 users , DAMN YOU SE! But in all honesty, i'll think twice before getting an SE again, that Tweet from SE UK realy pissed me off, they were so damn arrogant, their heads are so far up their own asses it's ridiculous, starting to remind me of Nokia with the N900, i think i must start looking at Samsung and Motorola more now, SE and Nokia are done.

@Ricky D i am still at the "1 update" since there is no rooting method yet. but eventualy if the so called MT update arrives i will have to give up root, will take to long for them to make it rootable. but the JIT thing is making my phone faster (so i belive)

Well, Im certainly not gonna give up root just for (not really) multitouch and some minor UI improvements. Im just gonna be patient and check some forums now and then.
Curious though, has the incoming call volume really improved with latest update? That would be a real improvement.

Most important: I just like the freedom to fool around with my phone, which in my view is just a little tablet computer running on a taste of linux.
Indeed I uninstalled and deactivated some apps (facerape ) and I think JIT really works (about +200 in quadrant).
I almost never use timescape or mediascape so Im also considering getting rid of those. Just a bit afraid to try as Im not exactly an expert.
