Does anyone still think that the earpiece volume will be fixed ever in an update?? I can live with it as it is not too bad but at times depending on the quality of the line in a call it can be hard to hear the other person. I remember Nokia managed to fix a similar issue in the 6300 in an update the volume was louder. So why cannot surely they know of this now?? it's the only real downer about the x10

The earpiece volume is fine, if it's not for you then you have a hardware issue, I can't listen on full volume or my eardrums hurt, I keep it 3 or 4 notches below full volume, I spend most of my days in crowded loud hallways, no issues hearing people.
No it is not ok. Many people have complained of the low volume & I have had many x10 replacements & new ones so it's not the hardware in my phone. They even mentioned it in a review

don't know what you mean by "new" widget... it's still the same as far as i can tell. and yes, it's still there in the 2.1 update.
They said a new Timescape widget will be presented with the 2.1 update. Screenshot:
I have not noticed any difference with the Timescape widget Why is it though my Timescape pics are all distorted?? @Doministry yes it's a stable device now

i agree. love my x10.
my only gripes about 2.1 update now that i've used it more.
native text messaging app is a pain in the ass. there's no way to get back to the thread listing? i have to keep pressing back back back back back a million times! plus it's a little slower to load convos than in 1.6 because of the animation and doesn't auto scroll to the newest message. PITA.
yes i know i can use a 3rd party messaging app, but i used to like the native app. don't konw if i really wanna move to handscent...

the new timescape widget will be on the next update which is due next month (said a guy in xda, that provided some infos about the 2.1 update before)
Regarding the phone in-call volume, I'm sure the development has gotten the message, and they still do have more time to fix before the next update in January. BTW, the next major update is only about a month away and it's not finalized yet, that means there's still time for the fix to be implemented.
Regarding 2.2, there will not be anything regarding it for the X10 family. SE did not even touch upon it during development. It went from 2.1 straight to 2.3. Therefore, if the light of hope is still shining, we MIGHT have a taste of 2.3. However, like I said, it is 99% unlikely due to the new substitute models...
No, 2.2 features will not be ported back to 2.1 update-2. It will have its own kick to it. SE is revising its UXP, and from what I was informed, it is quicker, but the most important part is it looks alot nicer. I think i've mentioned it before in the update-1 forum that Timescape widget is probably one of the most important one. It now auto updates right in the front, now I don't know how many will actually use it but yeah, that's one. Mediascape will get revamped too, more UI customizations along with Horizontal view now. Camera will go through more changes, and Video will be added another feature These are the major upgrades, I have no details on the rest about volume fixes or not. My scope is just the surface of the update, not minor details. Will let you know if I get the update early again, will preview for u guys some more
P.S. Please bare in mind, this update was a while back, more features MIGHT get added, but this is what I can confirm that changes in update-2 |

I'm looking for an app (ideally free) that would allow me to sync Microsoft Outlook (calendar, tasks, contacts etc) and possibly Yahoo Calendar with the Android phone. Is it actually possible to sync all 3 at all?
With MyPhoneExplorer 1.8 you can sync with Outlook (calendar, tasks, contacts).
You have to enable USB debugging in your phone.
Is there any other apps apart from MyPhoneExplorer? Don't really like the sound of enabling the USB debugging thing. I thought it'd be quite common to sync Outlook with Android...maybe I'm wroing. I need to be able to do this as all my appointments, tasks, contacts are on Outlook.

In my X10 work phone, I have CompanionLink (Direct USB sync) for Outlook to sync. It´s not free, but it does the job very well.

Something happened to my phone.
I still have %65 of battery after a days use.
It should have been around %30 from my previous observations.
