You dont/shouldn't need or use one on an Android phone. Can cause more problems than make the phone better.

I was told on XDA that due to separate partitions on 2.1's X10, all those preinstalled apps that remove using Titanium backup are in /system, the storage space value we look at is for /data (that's why even after un-install some of the defaulted apps, the internal storage space doesn't seem increased), one way to save on data space is to push all the apps to /system, only pitfall is that market will not be able to update them but... if those apps that never get updated, /system would be a great place for them to live.
Anyone know how to move some of the apps to /system from /data? Thanks !
anyone can help me please ? Thanks |

The 2.1 update has fixed some functionality for me, but killed others.
The most annoying thing it has killed is email notifications. Before the 2.1 update, I would get email notifications as soon as they arrived in my inbox, just like a text message. Now it doesn't work. I have to manually open the gmail app and press refresh.
Any idea how to fix this guys?

@Muhammad-Oli & @Lostsoulz
Settings -> Accounts sync -> check Auto-sync & Background data
and
Settings -> Accounts sync -> your gmail account -> check Sync Gmail
should fix the gmail sync notifications.

Thank you. But can you or anyone else point me to a method to unlock the AT&T model? I don't believe I see this on XDA Developers...nothing proven anyway.

I thought more apps running is not healthy for the phone right?

Really? I found I get them about the same time, occasionally faster on my phone than on my PC. Did you check the background data box? If not then it won't refresh after a few moments of the screen locking. Also, might be obvious, but make sure the data signal is strong. I've found my data strength isn't as good since the 2.1 update; more temperamental.
