Hi

I am having a problem with Market.

Whilst downloading an App, Market crashed (it appears to do this quite of ten with 2.1). However, I now have an App that constantly says 'Installing' in the downloads page of Market but never actually installs.

I have tried clearing the cache in Market and force stop but nothing gets rid, it is always there; even though the actual App is no longer on the phone as I bought the paid version.

I have tried everything I think, to get rid of this..... Anyone Ideas ?

i am having the same exact behavior with the market
the application was TEST from SE developer
go to setting/application/manage, scroll to find the application that has been installing since like forever, and uninstall.

Does anyone else experience Bluetooth connection drop when transferring a photo from the X10 to PC over Bluetooth?

I haven't had this problem before the 2.1 update. I have removed the device and added it again on my PC and still Bluetooth connection drops a quarter way through the transfer.

It keeps saying the transfer was cancelled by the Bluetooth device (the X10)

Very strange.

Wow this is a long thread...

Well after leaving the fold since P1 and trying Nokia N82, LG KM900, Samsung Jet and HTC Aria, I am returning to with the Xperia X10 (since 2.1 is now possible)...

I get my model on Monday...but it is locked to AT&T. Can someone direct me to the easiest ways to do/find the following:

1) Unlock from AT&T
2) Root it [Given it will come with 1.6 do I root with 1.6 first or update to 2.1 then root?]
3) Flash to Eclair 2.1 update
4) Collection of best apps for Xperia X10

This would give me a great head start as I eagerly anticipate the arrival! I'M BACK (almost).

Congratulations. You are making an excellent choice in the X10 lol Its been one hell of a rollercoaster ride for us but with us finally getting 2.1 and the news that a custom ROM could well and truly be on the way it is all starting to smell like roses around here.
Just go to the XDA developers site forums, scroll down and choose the XPERIA X10 Android Development link.Everything you've asked for is there in the top most popular threads. The reason why I aint giving you specific links is because there are now so many different methods to do the things you are asking for that I think you should look for yourself and choose what method is good for you.

Also this guy is pretty up to date with everything X10 and can be very helpful

Still waiting for the UK networks to release this.

Dates seem to be; Orange, T-Mobile - end of Nov, O2 apparently are looking to release on Monday.

Nothing confirmed from Vodafone.

Just more weeks of twiddling my thumbs.

I was told on XDA that due to separate partitions on 2.1's X10, all those preinstalled apps that remove using Titanium backup are in /system, the storage space value we look at is for /data (that's why even after un-install some of the defaulted apps, the internal storage space doesn't seem increased), one way to save on data space is to push all the apps to /system, only pitfall is that market will not be able to update them but... if those apps that never get updated, /system would be a great place for them to live.

Anyone know how to move some of the apps to /system from /data? Thanks !

that's what she said!

I don't have any O2 speific issues as I don't have an O2 handset, but if you're going to use the Global Generic flasher from xda there's a bit of faffing with Windows7 64-bit and java 32-bit. Read their forum for the workarounds (I think it's about page 124 onwards that are useful for that issue).

The Generic Global has all the Asian language support too. The Chinese keyboard I find particularly good as you slide up on a letter for CAPS and down on a letter for punctuation so no switching screens for numbers and marks etc and fewer presses for capitals. The Generic also doesn't have the Google Voice Search app which I found useful before. I can send you the apk for it though or you can google voice search 2.1 apk.

Also, rooting 2.1 with the xda guide on super1click works. I did it and I've removed moxier (what a waste of time) and quadrapop.

Good luck!
