If its the same situation at with the P series phones. You might have to downgrade to an old version using the SEUS recovery. Then you will be able to upgrade to the newest version you operator permitts you to have. You could of course use a server such as Setool.
Because the platform sends bogus messages while charging, that is why!!!..But why this change of heart?..We sense a charger connected, oops, we will not shut down after all!!!..*********************** UI BASIC, HOLD YOUR HORSES

ALL THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION AND ALSO TESTED BY ME; ANYHOW I REFUSE TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG, IF YOU VOID YOUR WARRANTY OR DO SOMETHING THAT IS NOT ALLOWED BY LAW!!!
1. about SE US:
it is all about combination of CDA number, language pack and some other details... some phones work, some don't, some are blinking, some are having camera problems, etc.etc.etc... if you want to play try running recovery with SE US and see what you get... all that debranded their phones should get in log and software data, EMEA1 files, because CDA102286/8 (which you get debranding with davinci or setool) is native for EMEA1... like 102286/9 is native for EMEA2 etc.etc.etc... all those who updated np with SE US and got only English or EMEA1 (Blatic) languages - after Master Reset all, you suppose to have back original languages
2. about Setool:
setool already offers firmware upgrade (no debramding/language change) for free using MAIN + SFA, but you'll need at least 1 credit to be able to download files from their support area. This way you will keep all user data, no need to backup all.
3. about Davinci:
since version 12 (or 11) Davinci also has place for SFA (Language Pack) and will be able to do that, but still no files in support area. When SFA files available you'll be able to upgrade for free without loosing data. Of course you'll again need at least 1 credit to be able to download files from support area.
4. about CDA:
if you really want and know what you are doing you can play with CDA and change it and see how it reacts to SE US... it is complicated process and I suggest you think first. If you already decided to void your warranty I don't see a reason why you would still use SE US, when you can upgrade firmware for free the other ways...
all the other things you should do only in R&D purposes

If you have downgraded using the recovery mode and then tried to update again, without success. Then it is likely that you already have the latest FW you operator permits you to have.

I was also unable to update my phone when I tried today.
My phone is Telia-branded but I have never had any problems with updating before.
I think that the case might be that SE has not yet finished the "Telia branded" firmware, just as they probably haven't finished the O2 and Vodafone etc. That is if these operators has decided to support the SEUS.
I know for a fact that Telia doesn't have anything against SEUS, but it seems likely that I won't be able to upgrade my phone until the Telia version of the firmware is ready.
Does all this sound reasonable to you guys?

Vee, nice insight bro..  @* Just backup your phonebook w/ fma and k700Dateimanager for pics etc. before you do an update so you wont have to upload lost files again.. 
Even up to now, SEUS is still buggy. There are other solutions as vee stated!(I went that way and am happy I did ) Hopefully,  will come to their senses and fixed all these problems regarding SEUS.

I tried using SEUS online update for my 2 set K700i but it rejected the update.
Got a small window show up after it initiatising the device with
"There is currently no service for devices belonging to your operator"
After everything stopped, the page show: " Your device is not
permitted to use this service.
Yoperator does not approve the usage of this service for
this device.We look forward to assist you again.
Thank you for using Sony Ericsson Update service."
Previously, I am abled to use SEUS to update 1 of the
K700i from R2A to R2L, and the other set was bought
with R2L but now both can't do the new version.

Few weeks ago, I had used SEUS online with the other
K700i which bought new with R2L, thinking new version had
been released without any problem.
Now it was blocked too.
SEUS online can only be used once base on those failed
on the 2nd upgrade like me?

I just used DaVinci to upgrade a K700i HK (better known as a K700c) to a K700i EU5 with R2AE033. I now have decent languages, multi-character search, My Friends, and the phone feels unburdened. I had upgraded to R2AE033 with SEUS a few days ago, but it had messed up my phone. Themes eventually displayed incorrectly (e.g. background would only show half the time), had weird stuff in the top bar, etc. Now I feel like I've got a new phone!

I tried SEUS, but aborted the procedure, since it was not stable.
Subsequently, i updated the firmware using SETool2 without incident and in just 10min.
There is a noticeable difference in navigation speed, further than that is yet to be seen.
Will keep you guys updated!
