Hedwig is an ericsson proto, that's designed in Sweden and has a male name. So not all ericsson mobiles have woman names.

Wakaba is the Japanese word for 'new leaves' or 'fresh growth' It is also the name of the yellow and green mark put on the cars of Japanese who have just passed their driving tests. Wakaba-Ma-ku.@

Futaba has a similar meaning ' to bud, or to sprout.

So both words connect to 'new'!

It might have been because the Japanese mobile systems were very close to the UMTS that 3G uses so they developed them over there.

What kind of batt is there in Hedwig? Can you take it off or is that solid with a phone(like in T65)?

Okay, I made a little operation with my non-working HEDVIG!

Battery of HEDVIG is not made for changing very often, because the cover is closed by four screws.
But you can open HEDVIG and you'll find a BST-14 battery.
3,6V 600mAh

Display and keypad got oled, like T28,T29 but colour is a bit more blue.

So its a kind of bus11. That batt solution seems optimal for that fone.

In my opinion, the idea of localizing the screen below the keypad was very clever. Because of the hand's anatomy, there's always an empty space below the keypad : the thumb stands higher than the other fingers when you grab a phone.

Take your T28 or T39 and do the test : turn it upside down and you'll see it's more comfortable to use the keypad that way...

Bravo Ericsson !
Apple Ericsson would have been better !

T28 WORLD and... T39 again !!!
