Really really want to see this phone! Especially a Vodafone one to see how awful it really is

Here's proof that I own one - and I can only say so many times that there's NO FRONT-FACING VIDEO CAMERA!

thanks for clearing the front video call caemera:)

The media player is the same as the Walkman, without the branding and some of the specific playlist features (genre, SenseMe etc). You have; Artist, Albums, tracks, Playlists, Audiobooks, Podcasts and that's it. To be honest, I rarely use the other stuff because my music isn't that well tagged and the genres are so mixed it's near impossible to generate a good playlist. And SenseMe just takes ages to generate!

It's a shame there's no easy access button to the media player, or it would be perfect! (BTW, The W902 has features like BestPic, so SE is beginning to see the value of sharing top-end features from Walkman with Cyber-shot and vice versa).

Video playback is a lot quicker than the K850i. Even with Bluetooth streamed audio, video files keep the audio in sync now - just as the older platform (W880i) handsets used to. Not sure if the processor is quicker, or if it's just heavily optimised code.

Maybe the lack of a video-calling camera has speeded up the phone? LOL

@jmcomms
There's a question asked in another thread, not sure if C905 has a radio and/or FM transmitter, can you inform us about this? Thanks!

Oh don't worry, it's not gonna be cleared up that easily. Since about 10 people have stated it has no video call camera (most had protos I admit), and the manual says "videocall (main camera)" which can only mean one thing, and people still held out hope against hope that it had a videocall camera, I fully expect even when there are millions of C905 in the market people will still think they can get videocall camera!

I'll even start a rumour right now, I bet someone will take it seriously: You can hack the light sensor with XS++ and make it into a video call camera. I'm not kidding, you really can...

Sony Ericsson’s C905 Cyber-shot™ phone gets a starring role and stops the city in its tracks
22 October 2008

Camera. Lights. Action! Sony Ericsson’s new C905 Cyber-shot™ camera phone television commercial brings a city to a standstill, as it follows a group of friends who snap and showcase giant high-quality photos for all to see using their 8.1 megapixel camera phone.

London, UK - 20th October 2008 – Sony Ericsson today reveals its stunning new television commercial for the new C905 Cyber-shot™ camera phone. The company commissioned professional photographer Matt Stuart to take photos, using the 8.1 megapixel C905 Cyber-shot™ camera phone, to use in the launch of its new commercial.

A number of enormous photos taken by Matt Stuart using the C905 Cyber-shot™ camera phone are placed in unusual locations, to show how anyone can experiment and be more spontaneous when taking and exhibiting their photos with this high quality camera phone.

Viewers see a CCTV camera mounted on a traffic light in the city centre. The camera’s mechanical head turns and stops to look at a large picture of a young woman cheekily poking her tongue out.

In another scene, huge pictures of brightly-coloured budgerigars stand high up against the city skyline, and has crowds of passersby stopping to look in wonder.

“The C905 Cyber-shot™ is a powerful 8.1 megapixel camera phone,” said Sven Totté, Head of Imaging Marketing at Sony Ericsson. “We really wanted to show consumers what is possible with the camera phone and showcase the outstanding picture quality it can deliver. Therefore the images in the commercial were actually taken with a C905 Cyber-shot™ camera phone.”

Professional photographer Matt Stuart, who took the photos with a C905 Cyber-shot™ camera phone, said: “To be honest, I was a bit sceptical about the results that a camera phone could achieve, but I was amazed. The C905 Cyber-shot™ camera phone felt like a camera and handled like one too. I was very impressed with the quality and think this is reflected in the commercial.”

Hi,

Thanks,
