@thug the mpg file will work on a vcd player if it is converted to a dat file using video cd option in nero. Don't worry about the directory structure, nero will create them automatically.

i have 2 mpg files.if i burn them directly to a cd,can it be played on a vcd?or will only .DAT files be recognised by the vcd player?
i checked out nero...i have nero v5 cd which is not compatible with my XP.so in download.com,the nero v7 (103mb file size)trial for 30 days will work only till May 1st.that would be a waste of time.is there any way, that i can make dat files out of my mpeg files and then burn them on a cd?

@thug i don't think mpgs will work on a vcd player, the disc has to be formatted to the correct book type which in this case would be video cd and not data cd to be recognized by the vcd player. Go ahead and download nero 7, I may be able to help u with that .

Thnks blu...its a reguar 256 kbps connection....so i guess speeds would be in the 25 odd KBps range.....ill check that out at night.
W.r.t the bt connection.....have you set up a new DUN...configured to use the w550i as a BT modem.....and use *99***1# as the dialup #...im presuming you only have 1 data account on the phone dont worry...its a breeze to get online...once you've set it up right

@m it doesn't seem to detect it as a modem. My cuz has taken the lappy to the service engineer so hopefully it will get sorted, but I don't think that'll happen. Works fine with an external dongle though.
