C702 is what I will be buying once it it will get cheaper, maybe for now you can have a look at the k770i or if you got the budget c702, overall good specs, new media player, dust and splash proof, gps, etc, etc

I didn't think SE had made any phones that could do QVGA recording before C702. What other phones from SE can do this?

w900 (sakura) was a handset ahead of its time.

it was the only java feature (mind you not a smartphone) to do that feat of recording QVGA 30 fps video. (k850 was the 2nd)

no other phone matched the quality of w900 video recording during its time. the contemporaries of w900 like n90 and n70 can can record video with CIF (352x288) quality. the resolution is sharper than QVGA (320x240) but the speed is slower (n90 captured at 15 fps)

plus the fact that w900 has an embedded Nvidia graphics/video card, so the quality of videos are really excellent (for a cameraphone)

I think Sony Ericsson should make the new phones to record CIF, not QVGA.

So, another af-less
That is what I mean
is it necessary to add megapixels just to add price to the handset?

I agree with this... The more megapixels are nothing without the good AF... AF camera phones take MUCH better pictures compared to the fixed focus ones...

Thanks to all of you guyz who replied to this thread. I wish SE will make a walkman phone like the w810 but with added 3G feature.

W610 is an average phone... Just slight upgrade from the W810 so I don't think it is much better... I would go for a W960

If u wanna have a good camera and 3G Walkman fone
W900 is a good choice... although hard to find one now
If u think no AF can also take good photos
W760 / W890 may be suitable,
If u must have 3G, AF & Walman interface
May be try C702, a A200 platrform fone with 3.2 AF cam
Search other brands' fone is a good choice also
First : K750i, now keep on using W800i & W810i | J230i as 2nd phone | Z300i for Mum | K610i for GF
But won't buy anymore as no amazing phone after W900i (Except Japan SE phone)

W760 cam lacks auto focus, also lacks landscape mode, but just view the photos taken in a pc, will be awesome, i think the camera is pretty good for a walkman phone, maybe se will put a landscape mode when they upgrade the firmware, is that possible now?

well you can wait till the start of november the w902 will pe out and it's better than the w810 in every category including the camera
For those who believe no explanation is necessary, For those who don't none will suffice

agreed but also more expensive =[
but u could just buy a slick looking k-xxx with roughly 3.2mp AF or better with flash etc....and stick a 4gb m2 in it.....wel thats where im heading for in a couple of weeks anyway
or check the c702/902
when it comes down to it, walkmans really dont hav the edge anymore not with the new media browsers in newer phones

Absolutely agree! The W900 was so ahead of its time, its EASILY the best CAMERA Walkman Phone. It was good at video recording but a few months later the NOKIA N93 with its VGA 30FPS DVD quality video, and TI OMAP CPU with 3D HW Acceleration knocked the W900 off its throne. Maybe the W902 will be good.
