Well the Pirate bay is good for most of the easy to find stuff, Demonoid is for everything else... + the community on Demonoid is the best and most civilised as far as torrent sites are concerned.
for those interested - ebookshares.org is nice site ( just ebooks... obviously  ) |

piratebay gives poor speed for pretty much every torrent unless its something new and very popular.

why the monkeys chuff are you using open torrent sites!?
Do you want the whole world to know what you are downloading!?
I pretty much only exclusively use underground. invite only sites, and even then you're still not safe unless you are using a SSH tunneling service, News groups my friends....
that's where it's at!

Well, you can always guess what the speed will be like from the number of seeders. Anyway, I have 20+ active torrents at any time, so for me, it is my DL speed and HD space that is holding me back most of the time...but I agree and use TPB exactly for that - new and more popular stuff.

I think that enforcing copyright laws in my country is VERY low on TO-DO list, so I don't worry about it much. i am interested on the subject though - torrentfreak.com is next to esato.com on my Opera's Speed Dial

I agree with fatreg, it's risky going on public sites, I only use sdb, hdb, and TL.
