K850's CPU is running at 220mhz right? Well my old N80's CPU is the same speed with little RAM as well and guess what? Its able to do the same with not as much lag as a K850.
Who's dumb? SE.
Sadly, K850's CPU is 153Mhz not 220 just like the newer A200 phones.

Yes but on W810 you can't multitask several java apps.

ur damn right...... you cant run two java applications, or start camera when a java application (software or game) is running..... serious multitasking is done only on smartphones...!!! |

SE isnt dumb, you are. It obvious that the nokia counterpart will be faster or display less lag because it is not as content heavy and complex as the k850i, the applications within the phone use less processing power then the k850. the gui alone in the k850i is requires more processing power then some nokia's 2x.
Eg. Just look at the k850i Media player
constant position monitoring (Accelerometer)
Running and selecting appropriate audio codecs & video codecs
processing image & video previews
Smooth Transition Effects (menus and display graphics)
updating track list
signal update
standby for call n msgs
list goes on...
(not to say that none of this goe son in the nokia phone but that alot of damn work for a small processor.
thats just some of the things i am sure the phone is constantly processing... lord knows what else the phone is actually doing.

What do you mean feature phones cant multi task. I can use camera and have a couple of apps open at the same time and this whole time experinceing only minimal slowdown.

By using some utilities, I found K850 preserve 1MB RAM for it's java app.
Processor is different, we can't compare ARM11 in N80 with ARM9 in K850. It's like comparing Core2Duo with early Pentium 4. Symbian requires more RAM and processing power.
Something like this: A200 vs Symbian = Win98 vs WinVista in terms of memory and processor requirement.
Although I prefer A200's UI.
SE hardware platform is quite old for nowadays. Still the same hardware since K800. ARM9 also doesn't have enough power to do VGA recording.
Just for information, and I still love SE.

Thanx for ALL that, but N80 has a ARM9 CPU, its an old TI OMAP which in reality runs at 208mhz. Same CPU used in the 4yearold 6680.

Im dumb? Yet SE are the ones who place a CPU that CLEARLY cant handle all that, and you say im dumb? LOL! Thanx now i know what type of people im dealing with in this thread.

the n80 was a snail when it was first released and along time after that also. of course, speed was 'eventually' sorted.

Yep that's true, but once i run Media (Music Player) on my K850 it slows down to N80 pace, with an N80 i could atleast play Music without the phone freezing and making every other app slow. When i run Music Player and MXit on K850 my MXit slows down and i end up sending blank msgs sometimes because it takes forever to let me write a message.

i remember my friends N73 when i had my K810, it was such a different. my k810 run so smothly against his N73. and dont even mention N95 (silver), its just damn slow. (mostly because of its laggy UI)
besides, C902 runs more smothly then most phones ive test. (i rather have a lagg-free UI then a stronger CPU with Nokia-lagg

N73 uses same CPU as N80. N95 with V20 and up FW is pretty fast but i do agree not fast as a Java SE, well maybe on par with a K850 though.
Ever used a N81? It makes SE's look slow, it can keep up with a W880 and its slightly faster than K850.

my new upcoming Xps M1530 with its Intel Core 2 Duo T9500 (2.6GHz/800MHz FSB, 6M L2 Cache) is fast.
i havnt test one single cell phone who actually is FAST with 10 apps running.
ps. when a cell phone use a Intel Centrino Atom processor. (47 millions transistorer..then we talking speed).
it can be OverClocked to 1.8ghz and uses ONLY 0.5-2.5 W ...thats a CPU.
((a ordinary core 2 duo CPU uses 35 W..now you maybe see the difference))

I haven't tried on a K850, but my W910 has no such problem. The only thing that's ever slow is display of thumbnails in large lists (for example the song names take a few seconds to show for my 1500 songs, or the thumbnails in pictures takea while to display (I have quite a few pictures)
But the actual phone itself doesn't slow down at all no matter what the media player is doing, and even with lot's of java apps open the phone ui is still normal speed.

Oh so now a feature phone is more complex than a smartphone? Thats news to me. And which applications within the phone are less power hungry than K850?
