Awww, luck at all them lickle Cyber-shots
Thats what you call a pedigree. Personally, I think the K810i deserves best snapper title because Sofia hasn't been launched yet.

We might as well say that the S700 also deserves a special mention with its great 1.3mega pixel CCD LENSE camera

Couldn't agree more. It also introduced memory expansion

I think technology has shrunk enough now for it to be possible to shoe-horn a 5.0MP CCD lens into a Cyber-shot branded, updated S700i casing.
That would be amazing.

the best looking cybershot for me is the k550. followed by the k850, k770, k800 and k810. but i have to say k550 is not that worthy of the cybershot branding. ;-( k750 is even better than k550!... yeah, i agree that k750 is the first, premiere "unofficial" cybershot. made a big win in k750. |

haha, if we were to be pedantic, we could say we were missing:
S700i
K750i - black, white and red
K850i - blue
upcoming K810i red |

He's desperate But that's SPAM.
Anyway, I do like the look of the K810 and K800 (silver) best. The K770 just looks childish next to them IMO. And the K850... well, that just looks strangely proportioned.

I like the K850, but it took me a bit of getting used to looks of the strange dpad arrangement. I still don't know how it would actually be to use, but I imagine you could quickly get used to it and find it no different from ordinary dpads.
But once you get used to it looks wise, I reckon the K850 is pretty nice. It took me a while to get used to the K750 too, next to the K700 it was a bit spartan. I think the K850 is the same.
Besides, the spartan functional look always appeals to me more than the glossy stylish look.

Yeah, I'm not digging the glossy look of the K850 too much either. But I don't think the dpad is the most comfortable solution. I reckon the lack of a centre confirm button the most annoying part, due to the fact that it makes navigating the phone just that much slower without it.

actually I wondered about that. I assumed there was a way, for example press the two keys in the middle together or something. Are you saying it's necessary to press a softkey or something for middle press?

Yep, you have to press a soft key, instead of pressing the "unexisting joystick" down. (soft key is the touch-button in the bottom of the display).
I have played with the K850 for 1 minute, and I liked the phone alot. Nice touch with the automatic lens-cover.
I didnīt even tought of the d-pad, it was natural to use it, and thatīs good.
If you live near Lund, Skåne in Sweden, the Sony Ericsson Experience Center have all prototype-phones, like the K850 (both colors), W960, T250, T650 and so on. Itīs funny to visit them and look at the new phones so early.
