I'm interested in buying the chatboard for the T68, but is it worth it?

it looks cool, i text loads, so what do you guys think??

It is marginally faster than T9. There are also a few quirks, like if you include an apostrophe, your SMS may be split up into parts.

You still have to wait for the phone to catch up with your keystrokes in R1B, I'm not sure if R2A firmware solved this problem.

i just got it today for $19 and i think it is worth the money...it will not let you jump out the chair but sms or email is now much easier then before...
the only thing is, it still have to wait that the telephone catches up...

Can I also use the Ericsson Chatboard CHA-10 with the T65?

I have just found on ebay. I'm going to bid on it and see if I can win it, I'll see what's like

I have just bought one £4.99 brand new, Should be here is the nest couple of days

It's selling cheap here in malaysia, only USD 2.5.

Over in the UK brand new in Carphone Warehouse they are £19.99 that's 4 times more expensive than the one I have got of ebay...

The Ericsson Chat Board is not 100% compatible with the T68 as the functions along the top do not seem to work correctly - and in Carphone Warehouse they are £6.99 as i work for them and got a T68 for free and a the T68 BT HBH-20 BT headset!

When I got my phone from Carphone Warehouse in Watford about 2 months ago, I asked how much the Chatboard was he said £19.99. That's why I didn't get one...

O well nevermind

I hate this chatboard because it's all CAPITAL LETTER... you can't type small letter!... it sucks!

Posted by kongy108
you can type in both capital and small letters!!!!!

its worth it...its about 1,200 pesos here (philippines) or US$23

got my chatboard here in saudi arabia for 100 saudi riyals (about 27 us$).

it's very useful especially for long sms or when entering long wap url's. very handy too when entering new contact information.

noticed this slight "bug" though--when writing new sms, it always starts in small-case.

to shift to upper-case (capital letters), you need to press shift-space 2x, but then you'd need to press shift-space again after your first letter, if you want lower case letters to follow your first capital letter. this is quite annoying. any of you guys experience this prob too?

also noticed that the chatboard website (www.chatb.com) isn't working properly. tried to post a message in the boards using my chatboard, no can do. the web-based phonebook's useful though, but then mobile internet already has that (and more), right?

hi guys!... im trying to type on lower case letter but it doesn't work? when i first bought my chatboard it's already all capital letter? how to turn into a lower case? any idea guys? thanks!

Look at the text posted just before yours.

Press shift+space to change case.

I've noticed too that when you start a new SMS by pressing the SMS key on the chatboard at first your phone thinks you're typing with T9. Then when you press a key on the chatboard it appears on the screen but in small case... and after that all letters are capital letters (unless you change it). Strange.

On the little manual which came with the chatboard (CHA-10) it says that you shouldn't use phone keys when using the chatboard, quote: "After attaching the chatboard, use only the keys on the chatboard." Why? Any ideas? (I've used the phone keys and found nothing wrong with that.)

CHA-10

Does it work with T68i?

Posted by bart

Totonox,
whereabout in Malaysia did you buy it for US$2.5? They selling it in Kuching for M$200

Posted by pronay
In principle CHA-10 works with every actual /// phone: T2x/3x/6x.

Thanks a bunch to the guy who mentioned that to change case, you need to press Shift+Space... I was going to THROW the chatboard away because I thought it only did CAPS.

What the hell were the Engineers at Ericsson thinking???? Why no Caps Lock key?? Its so moronic.... also I don't like the rubber keys.. you don't know if it actually registered your press.. why not have normal plastic keys??

But at the end of the day..if you text a lot.. it is worth it, you can text a whole lot faster.. and you don't need to switch between t9, symbol and abc.. input all the time

nearly dumped my chatboard but thought I would wait and see if it works with the P800?

anyone know if it works?

Posted by wapj
It is worth the price if you like sending sms or browsing wap page. The rubber keypad makes it longer life. It works well with T68.

The chatboard works fine on the T68i, BUT the buttons along the top are not 100% as described. Once you get used to it, it's great, especially for WAP browsing and E-mails.

Has anyone found out how to insert an apostrophe yet? The SHIFT D apostrophe inserts one of those giant special characters that take up a whole SMS!

D.
