I photoshopped a phone and want everyones feedback

Posted by blackspot
Feedback on what?

1. This thread is misplaced.
2. Your photoshop skills need polishing.
3. Your idea of a phone is bad.

Posted by blackspot
Well, if you're as mature as you claim you are, you should learn to graciously accept negative feedbacks.

Posted by blackspot
OK calm down. I didn't mean to offend you with my bluntness.

I will attempt to explain why I consider your idea as bad:
1. The camera is in the sliding cover, that is technically difficult if not impossible to achieve, considering the camera mechanism and circuitry required, IMO.
2. The camera is facing the user and is in the same orientation as the screen - how can you view what you're taking a picture of?
3. The keypad is too cramped up because of the bulky camera/slider.
4. The physical design/concept itself is like a hybrid SEK700 and Samsung -- no originality.

That's my opinion too and indeed beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Posted by Yazan24
The Camera is on the otherside, but I couldnt remove the flash and thing when Chopping :>

and I know the numbers are all crumbled up but its still the first version,

If I had the camera in the sliding mechanism it would be fairly easy to do, no matter what the circuitry, its all internal so it doesnt matter.

i agree

The phone design in itself is really quite poor, its nothing really "original" that makes me open my eyes and think, "cool!"

I think it would benefit you to start from scratch and then start designing.

Posted by Elrond
Not very good. It's very unpractical and your skills isn't that good to design new phone. The keypad isn't full and I can't imagina to take photos with that. You would must to turn the phone to capture something and you can't see the preview. You would have to capture it, turn the phone again and if the image wasn't good, then delete it, again turn the phone, capture it and so on.

i dont like any of them but davo_169's design... ^o^

I prefer original look of k700 + MS slot +1m camera + s700 screen quality (maybe with new metalic keypad) and ofcourse bugs fixed!

or SO505i look ^__^

@davo_169 great desighns man, but I think you have too much time on your hands.

Posted by dane1
why 2 displays i think one is ok and how do you want to write a sms without keybord

Posted by Lembo
The lower screen is supposed to change depending on what menu you go to.

Posted by The Radical
So I guess the lower screen is a touchscreen and shows a keyboard when one wants to write an SMS...

Finally somebody designs a phone with a time-machine!
I've been waiting for this for sooooooooooo long! The Bluetooth

immediately it remind me of a nokia phone
8500 etc.....

meaning I will quit SE forever if they come out a phone like what you design.

SE is getting more like nokia but not being nokia

Yazan, Good try there dude!

I would actually like to see a IPod-3G phone! When is apple going to launch that?

Cheers

What I would like to see is a smartphone using a mobile MacOS.

Wires should be extinct by now.

Here's an idea for all the aspiring designers, design a bluetooth headset that isnt really a bluetooth headset but a complete phone. (No need for a camera or MP3s etc, just a real tiny phone that one can attach to one's ear while talking).

It would need a keypad or some other way of inputing numbers, and a small display. Oh, and make sure the bit that goes into the ear isn't the antenna otherwise brains will get fried!

Posted by Davo_169
if its attached to your ear then how are you going to read the display or type the numbers.

Posted by babysmile
Man, that's a nice design phone. M series.. wow..
Yup agree with Dave. As you can check on Akono Bluetooth headset Hbh- 660 , you can see an lcd screen on the headset, kinda wired if using the screen there..

You hook it onto your ear while you're talking, so you dont have to hold it to your face.

I dont think there's any phone that allows you to read the display or type the numbers while you're talking on the phone.
