Would it be possible to scroll here up and down with the buttons 2 and 8? Is it technically possible? Tia

Posted by plasmadog
Boba, do other wapsites offer the same? What are the advantages thanks.

Posted by *Jojo*
I thought it was the keyboard on my Desktop's? I guess you were totally pertaining to your mobile fone here dude - am I right?

Posted by plasmadog
Jn- yeah think he's referring to the keys on keypad. Like, when you play games on mobile, you can use 2 and 8 instead of joystick.

Posted by GOwin
have you tried using the volume buttons instead?

The jog dial would be perfect for that.

Posted by BobaFett
@gowin volume buttons jump over lines

Posted by Ayush
Might be possible using xhtml.

Posted by kimcheeboi
u sure man? It doesn't do that for me...

Posted by Ayush
I meant it could be implemented.

If you are talking about the buttons on the PC keyboard you can release the Num Lock and it works, but if you are talking about the buttons on your mobile I believe it depends on your mobile's navigation.

Posted by BobaFett
@all i mean fone, not pc.

Posted by mixin
What exactly is wrong with scrolling using the joystick?

Posted by Lembo
I would find 2 & 8 more akward.

Posted by Ayush
I think the wear and tear factor

Posted by mixin
If your joystick is starting to go faulty, i highly recommend taking it to a SE service centre!

Posted by Krubach
I can already see what's coming if laffen implements this...

Q:"I want to write 'T' but i can't. The page just scrolls down"
A:"Just set focus on the field you want to write into."

Posted by BobaFett
@mixin nothing is wrong with the joy, its a simple question just as many others here.

Posted by mixin
I'm just trying to understand if it's needed at all. There is already 2 methods of scrolling up and down pages

Doesn't the 2 button do a "post reply" aswell?

Posted by Ayush
Good point

Posted by wapt
@Boba, That's a good idea, but personally dont think it will be finally available on xHTML.

Posted by BobaFett
@mixin 2 for post a reply? Is it on html light? I use only wml, therefore the question. @wapt why do u think it would work only on xhtml?

Posted by mixin
I was referring to wml.

I thought that:
2 was new post
* was previous post
0 was last post in thread
# is next post.

I'm not too sure bout these seeing as i haven't used wap in about 6 months

Posted by Ayush
I think you mean xhtml and 2 is for replying

Posted by BobaFett
@mixin its not working on wml.

1 is forum home

this is actually the xhtml script. fastest way of wap browsing esato there is if you ask me

If only bobafett would start using it he would find wap browsing a lot less cumbersom already

Posted by BobaFett
Vlammetje. I have limited gprs, 50mb in a month, html light would drain hardly my gprs account. Sad, but true. Ps: sorry for off topic

Posted by mixin
xhtml isn't html light

Posted by Vlammetje
we are NOT talking about html light boba.

go to wap.esato.com
notice how there are TWO forum options there
one is wml and one is xhtml

for fun..... hit 1 on your keypad after reading this post

Posted by BobaFett
I cannot go there, think the fone doesnt support the access

Posted by wapt
@Boba, xHTML is the best way to visit the forum on WAP 2.0 phones. It loads almost the same amount of data as WML. Go http://wap.esato.com/board/xhtml.php

Posted by mixin
Works fine on T630 too

Posted by Vlammetje
It supports it boba...just like my Z600.

I think the link on wap.esato.com itself to xhtml is broken (just tried it). Perhaps laffen could look into that??

Use the link wapt posted and bookmark the 'logged in' page on your phone and you will never have another worry again

Posted by Ayush
I left xhtml for a reason that sometimes my posts would be nothing but just blanks :-(

Posted by BobaFett
Ok, i am on xhtml now. The buttons 2 etc doesnt work. What else is diff next to wml?

Posted by Vlammetje
if the 2 to reply and 0 for last post and such do not work you're not on xhtml I'm afraid

Posted by wapt
The only problem with Esato xHTML I know is that, when you tap the OPTION key (or MORE key on most of SE fones) from xHTML and then select FORUM from the menu, it will go to WML page instead. Think it needs to be reported to Laffen.

Posted by BobaFett
Does that mean i am now on wml again? I use always more. So to stay on xhtml i should use the bookmarked site.

Posted by wapt
Can just by checking if the keys 1, 0 works. Or go to the extend menu by Option, select sth. like View Status. See if it is xhtml.

Posted by mixin
sth?

Posted by Vlammetje
sth?

Posted by wapchimp
You can use 1-9 & *-# for accessing links, but as far as I know Boba there is no access key command to get to the top and/or bottom of the page.

Posted by BobaFett
Thx again @wapt. Do like the last post feature.

Posted by mixin
No thanks for anyone elses contributions?

Posted by BobaFett
Sorry, my mistake @mixin u are right. Thx for all of u here.
