How BAD are these companies? I want stories about crappy service, poor salesmen who dont have a clue, mind-numbing callcentre staff etc
If you have a rant about the quality of service, then this is the place! I know there are complaints about them all over the forums, thought it would be nice to see them all in one thread so people can see all the reasons not to buy from them.

Ok, my cousin went to get a new phone and contract at the link, and, despite having his drivers licence and birth certificate, they didnt believe he was 18! They wouldnt even process the contract! In the end they faxed his birth certificate and drivers licence to head office who OK'd it, but that took 4 (four!) hours! If that aint shoddy i dont know what is!

Then there was the *ptah* link manager who told me the p910 would be exclusive to vodafone. Where do these people get there information? He just said it to sound knowledgable, and looked like an idiot.

If they are so sensitive they shouldnt be so arrogant and pushy when selling phones! If they dont want people complaining about them then they shouldnt do such a bad job!

Hell, if my local Carphone Whorehouse had Christina Aguilera stood outside in her night gear like that, id be in there every day !
Ive had nothing but impeccable service from CPW where i live, they really seem to be clued up on whats what and dont try to be too pushy when selling you phones, they listen and give you what you want. Except free phones.
P4U and The Link are crap though where i live, like you say, they really have no idea. Before the K700i came out i went in both stores and asked them about the phone. Neither of them had even heard of it, even when i told them the O2 shop a couple of doors up the high street had been selling the phone on contract for the past week !
