When is the main time period esato is up and Kicking and when is it dead?

Posted by Ayush
I think it's down at this time. It's mostly up at eu peak times. Since it comprises of the majority.

Posted by MikLSP
From what I've seen it seems to be quietest at weekend & Monday morning and of course over night.
Busy times seem to be weekdays & evenings.
That's just my observation anyway

Posted by Del
I would of said week days and evenings to as it is very quiet at the moment

Posted by BobaFett
The summertime in europe does an effect for esato as well.

Posted by kimcheeboi
i see ppl usus post when theyre at work.

Posted by Ayush
Ha ha and your'e gonna follow them kim? ;-) jokes apart. Time zones have to be considered. People from uk are greater right?

Posted by Yazan24
Yeah I was just abt to Say please state Time Ranges in GMT

Posted by *Jojo*
I do agree with that of @miklsp ! Perhaps, more relaxed on weekends, specially that of Sunday! @laffen - Wanna see esato get crowded again . . . then, bring back the ' P L A Y T I M E ' - Beat The Lock Contest . . .

Posted by gelfen
yes, a brief period of furious activity followed by hours of 404 errors after the server melts down, throws up its arms in disgust, and takes a nice holiday in Ibiza.

Posted by Residentevil
Peak times are evenings Greenwich time under the week. Right after work and before those english ppl go to the pub. After 22.00 Greenwich time most of bloody UK is drunk anyway. That when we from the US on our lunch break squeeze out some posts and UK posters are still tryin' to get over their hangovers.

Posted by BobaFett
@re what a nice post ;-) btw it would be interesting if @laffen could make a statistic about it.

Posted by scotsboyuk
68.8% of all statistics are made up.

Posted by gelfen
actually it's 68.84291 recurring

I think a good indication of peak usage is when your post gets a lot reply within moments after posting. Now if there are no replies it's a slow time on the forum.

Posted by gelfen
hardly anyone replies to my posts at the best of times

Posted by Residentevil
WEll Gelfen, cuz you are in a way way different time zone. Around noon your time now?

Posted by gelfen
half past. but that's no excuse. people could still read my stuff couldn't they?

nobody likes me
everybody hates me
i think i'll go and eat worms.....

@gelfen -
I know how you feel - I seem to have a habit of killing threads off - I post, then no one bothers after that, I'm getting a bit paranoid now....

I think we should adopt Milwall FC's chant - 'Nobody likes us, We don't Care!'

btw, for those who are wondering, Milwall are a not very popular English football club, known for their hooligans and violence. I bet the real Milwall fans are a silent majority though.

Anyway, gone off topic, sorry! The 'dead' times seem to be after about midnight GMT to 4 or 5 in the morning, when the EU starts getting up again. It would be interesting to see which country has the most Esato members!

Posted by gelfen
Tell it to me Brother Sammy.

i either lob into the office first thing in the morning to get the tail end of a day's discussion, or i start a new thread which gets largely ignored because i posted it hours before everyone else is awake! i try to hold off posting new topics to the end of the day to maximise the exposure, but the latest i usually post is still only 7-8am GMT (today is an exception).

....long thin skinny ones
big fat furry ones
i eat them and throw their skins away
nobody knows i eat worms all day

given these discussions, I guess I will be less effective as moderator when I get back to oz permanantly (yipee I hear some of you say) but we're not planning that for around another 12 months (awww I hear you now say)

Posted by Vlammetje
he's hearing things

you could always mod on the nightshift masseur

Posted by mixin
I'll be in oz in 12 months

Posted by masseur
I can't wait to get home, I've really had enough of UK and I'm only there 2 days a week most weeks. Give me the outdoor life anytime!

mixin, sounds like a few tinnies over a bbq are in order and I've already got tentative plans with a few aussie members

Posted by scotsboyuk
@masseur

I might be in Oz next year too, quite looking forward to it actually. Everyone prefers their homeland I suppose; I see you also work in Germany, I would live in Australia any day over Germany, and I have nothing against Germany or Germans, in fact most of the Germans I have met are extremely nice people, but I just don’t think I would be comfortable living in a country without the Queen.

Posted by masseur
its ok here in Frankfurt, its a business city and most people only come here for the weekdays and then go home to wherever

many Aussies see no need for the queen (or her govenor general) any more, and thats my opinion too, but I've read (and respect) your strong British views before so its probably better if we agree to disagree before we start and steer clear of that topic

btw, everyone is welcome in Oz! its just a shame that the timezone keeps it out of most of Esato rush hour (he said trying to get back on topic )

futile attempt

nice to know we're all welcome in oz
I'll hafta go or Mickey will go insane

Posted by mixin
esato rush hour will end up being an aus rush hour at this rate

Posted by scotsboyuk
@masseur

You are indeed a wise fellow my Antipodean friend! I genuinely wasn't trying to start anything, just passing comment really.
Did you know that Britons were allowed to vote in Australia and sit on Australian juries up until 1987?

@Vlamm

What about Australia as a venue?

Posted by masseur
it seems that we Aussies (and others in the commonwealth) can still vote in UK according to some forms I recently received from the electoral commission. I'm glad its not compulsory though, like it is back home

I definitly think an Aussie meeting is a must!

Posted by scotsboyuk
I'm really not all that sure when I will be over, but certainly if there is the possibility of a dashed smart evening out or some other such caper then I would be rather interested.

Posted by masseur
I'm planning 5 or 6 days back before year end too, gotta see my mum!

btw, we can justify this as on topic because with so many of us going to be in oz next year we can create our own Esato rush hour at that time

(not as futile as the last attempt I hope!)

Posted by scotsboyuk
@masseur

Always thinking of the rules!

Out of interest, what is it that you do?

Posted by masseur
IT contractor... Here is my entry in the what is everyones occupation? thread

Posted by scotsboyuk
This seems quite a busy period on Esato, people must be on their lunch breaks.
