I'm trying to set my T610 up for accessing the web via GPRS, using a Bluetooth dongle.
Everything is working fine, and the Bluetooth dialup profile is enabled.
However, I have no idea what to type in to the phone number, username and password boxes of the Bluetooth dialup settings.
I have done a search and found some vague information on typing in a GPRS access number, but I haven't got a clue what mine is.
I would much appreciate a simple guide on finding out all the settings needed to browse with Bluetooth dialup over GPRS using T-Mobile UK.

Ask your service provider for the username and password and your access number should be *99#

Thanks, I now have the right number (*99***1#), username and password, but need to know the GPRS data APN of T-Mobile UK.
At the moment, the only GPRS data profile set in my phone is the default WAP one done via the SE configurator. Can anyone tell me the T-Mobile UK's DATA APN please?

This seems an odd thread as you can't access GPRS over dialup! If the phone dials a number it is not GPRS!

It is, the "*99***1#" number that is dialled is simply a command for the phone to initiate a GPRS connection.
This is how a device uses a phone as a modem for access over GPRS.
Working really well here, really handy being able to use the net on my laptop at 6.5k/s, whilst on the train with my phone in my pocket

But, this is not dialup. The 'number' you refer to is a command structure for modem access to GPRS (laptop-phone-GPRS or PDA-phone-GPRS etc). Dialup access is via the GSM network and is charged by time rather than on GPRS by data packets!
That's what caused my confusion!

I've tried this but cannot get gprs to connect.
It's never connected in fact - even just trying to use the T610s built in WAP browser over GPRS.
Using the following username and password:
user
mms
As recommended here:

I think u r referring 2 something else. What was done here was connecting to the internet with a laptop using the phone as a modem.
Correct me if I'm wrong but you want to connect to the internet/wap directly with ur phone.
If that's the case, u have two options.
1. Go to the SE global support site and get the configurations for wap/email/mms.
2. Give the details of ur phone and service provider and hopely someone on the same will be able to help u.
Option 1 is probably the best way to start.
If I'm way off from what u want, pls forgive me. Its pretty late anyway.

I was tryng to use the phone as a GPRS modem with my laptop as FannyPad had done (but with IR rather than BlueTooth, but was just noting that I'd not managed to get a GPRS connection using the phones built in WAP browser either.
I must have fouled something up.

I also had some initial problems. l had fiddled with my bluetooth software so l decided 2 uninstall and reinstall the software. After reinstallation I went to the Bluetooth wizard and followed the instructions to set up a dial up network icon. Make sure ur phone and laptop r paired b4 using the wizard.
Note also that some ppl used the SE wizard but that didnt work 4 me. Also tried to use the BT wizard b/4 the uninstallation and that didnt work either. Thats why I reinstalled..
Now once u have the new BT dial connection u must have the right number. I find a lot of folks in the UK using *99***1# but l'm on t-mobile US and have 2 use *99***3#.
Lastly there is another post in the last 24 hours that offers some other solutions. U may want 2 check that out.

Wahey! It works and rocketh mightily!.
Rang the nice man on T-Mobile customers services on 150. He said he could see my settings were wrong and downloaded a replacement profile straight onto my phone.
Haven't got a bluetooth dongle for the laptop yet so just enabled infra red, and pointed the dialup networking wizard at the T610 IR modem I'd already installed for gsm dialup to my ISP. Then I set the dial string to be: *9***1#
user: user
pass: mms
Works like a charm at around 5k/sec
tested speed using ftp from the command line, so that shows that it's not restricted to port 80 like the free US T-Mobile GPRS.
.75p per kilobyte tho' so go easy and sip that data!
