Unbeliveable - My Nokia 6600 is better with Bluetooth Headsets than SE

I personally wouldn't believe it if I didn't experience it myself. I have owned every SE with Bluetooth and sadly (Being a strong SE supporter) have to say that my new Nokia 6600 has been the easiest and best performer when using my HBH -65 and my Parrot Car Kit. I have both paired and switch between the two without blinking an eyelid. Unfortunately with my SE I would always have trouble when trying to switch between the headset and car kit, often having to re-pair the devices.

Good for you....and Nokia! I have to say I am a bit surprised.

I'm not. My 6310i works far better with BT than my T68i or P800 did.

i hope this isn't a problem with all se phones as i just ordered an hbh-200, hope it works fine with my p900 and z600

the only reason for me going for SE is BT, and now since I am very much upset and disappointed with SE's BT, you guys are giving me enough reason to go back to nokia, well maybe not yet enough... but now very close to it, one thing though, i might not buy another SE BT headset again

@friedbrain: Why are you so disappointed with your Headset and what model do you have?
I think it would intrest others to hear why so we dont have to buy something bad!
Please tell us.

@LooseGoose:
When you get in the car do you have to switch the HBH65 off so that the Parrot will work?

@pzboyz

I have both the Parrot CK and HBH-65 as authorised devices. When I get into the car I turn off the HBH-65 and then turn the ignition key, the CK connects straight away. When I get out of the car I turn on the HBH-65 and it connects straight away. I do not have to touch the phone at all.

The problem I had with SE phones was that as soon as I used another device it would not automatically connect with the other, usually I would need to turn on/off, turn car on/off a number of times to try and get a connection. Most time I would have to erase the Parrot's memory or HBH-65 and re-pair.

do you have problems pairing the hbh-65 with n6600? I have heard of problems like the hbh65 ringing but not the phone making pple miss calls. What about the connectivity? Does it stay connected? I read that the new hbh-200 does not stay connected. Pls help.

I don't have any problems pairing the two together. The issue regarding the handset not ringing is correct but I have my phone on vibrate all the time and at times I will be wearing the headset and can hear the headset ringing. Although not ideal if you are someone who likes to hear ringtones but for me it suits.

Not too sure about the 200 though.

I read a review of 6600: the audio-BT was problematic. Only Plantronic-BT did work and some other troubles existed also. Was it in Mobileburn?

There are no issues/problems with the 6600 and BT,...actually it works great

Using it with our Bluespoons it works very good indeed,..and also with eg Nokia's own, SE HBH, Jabra etc.

And no,..its not a big surprise that Nokia works better than SE when speaking of bluetooth headset connections,..their range is also better.

P900 for example has some 2,5meter range (basically the same as P800), T610 is a lot better, but e.g. 6310i, 3650, 6600 is far better.

Nokia basically uses the Handsfree profile,..Series 60 phones have this, while SE mostly uses Headset profile (the older one).

Yes, it was in Mobileburn`s review of 6600! They report troubles in Audio-BT. SE HBH-60 ja Siemens` BT-handfree did not work and even Nokia`s older model didn`t function. They say 3650 had a better BT. Now you must buy maybe a new BT when shopping a 6600. My friend owns a N6310i and Nokias own BT-handsfree: it works about under 1 meter and he looses the connection even on shorter distances! He has also troubles with his Tungsten T3 by BT-connection. Maybe Your Bluespoon is so exellant that it works so fine. I cannot buy it because it is so expensive 300 euros.

Theres actually a much cheaper Bluespoon too,..the Chameleon
Its only the Digital being expensive...

Chameleon works very well with 6600,..same BT-profiles and SW as the Digital.

It seems as if some 6600 models have BT-audio problems,..but far from all models. All I know is that my own and also the one we have at work, works fine with different headsets.

I know people use e.g. SE HBH65, Nokia HDW2, Plantronics M, Jabra,..and they work just fine with 6600.

The one I know of, that is having problems, is the Bluetrek v1.2,..it does have BT handsfree profile, but apparently there seems to be some problems,...
The G2 version from Bluetrek should work.

Although BT is a standard, there are always some changes/differences in all the different phones,..so us guys doing headsets, will just have to alter our units to fit the phones.
Thats exactly what we are doing

BTW : Its not a "fault" that the phone doesnt ring when headset is ON,.works just like the 3650,..here the phone doesnt ring neither.

Siemens SX1 is a bit different,..here both headset and phone rings.

The 6600/3650 with Handfree function uses what we call sniff-mode,..meaning its not online all the time,..but just go into what we could call hypernation,...wakes up once you have calls/make calls.
And no, it doesnt disconnect,....meaning it doesnt fall out.

6600/3650 also transfer ringtones and sms tones to the headset.

I'm wondering why Nokia is using the 'BT' logo...
To everybody is saying Nokia BT is working good: did you really try it?
I'm very disappointed with Nokia BT policy. I have an Ericsson HBH-20 and an Anycom, they are both working with SE mobiles, but they cannot be used with 3650/6600! Don't tell me about the BT profiles Nokia is supporting... The problem is what they are NOT supporting!!!
Ok... After realising that my headsets could not be used with the 3650, I bought the HDW-2, and basically it works.
But I would like to mention the disconnection problem, that means turn off and on the headset or reconnect it using the phone!!! And sometimes the phone just resets while reconnecting.
And forget about the 'battery low' sound coming after a few minutes of conversation, that goes away turning the headset off and on, and than it works for hours without having to charge it!
And even forget about the ear clips, that last for a couple of days before breaking!
I've broken 4 of them in 3 weeks, and one broke without wearing it...
The one I'm using now is quite gone...
What I'm not going to forget is the time I had to spend just to have a BT connection with my PC, and to reach a Nokia service point to buy all those nice clips!
I had a T39 and a T68, and both connected to my PC, and it was a matter of minutes.
If you buy a Nokia phone supporting BT make sure you're gonna use a cable headset.

Hey

Could someone please tell me what im doing wrong here .. have tried many times but I can't get my HBH-65 to connect to my nok6600.
I tried it with my p800 and it works fine, but I can't find anything when i search for devices with my nokia 6600.
Is there any other setting i'll have to set before i search for my bt device, except turning bt on?

Dont understand this, cant see anyone else got problem connecting to this bt model...
