P900 volumes to meet demand in November?

OK, so after reading the various posts here in this forum, there is ample "proof" that the P900 will probably be available in the UK in November.

However, does anyone know whether it will be available in significant volumes, or just a few initially. It seems with new phones that manufacturers normally ramp up production over a period of months.

We have been told here in the forums that the P800 has been discontinued at CPW and Orange (and no longer being manufactured by SE?) Therefore, am I right in thinking that this suggests SE and distributors are confident of the P900 being available in significant numbers to meet demand? If not, then I would imagine they wouldn't have discontinued the P800 just yet?

Anyone with some inside information care to comment?

No inside info from me but based on previous experience from ... of course there will not be enough supply to meet demand and thats the way usually seem to prefer it with a new product release!

Do we know if SE has actually stopped manufacturing the P800? I vaguely remember reading that somewhere here, but I'm not sure.

well. I had my T610s firmware upgraded at ME service centre on Friday and they said that cannot supply with with P800 and T610 and cannot say when they will supply them but the person there thought it had more to do with the charger problem than production termination.

They may have stopped manufacturing the P800, but there will still be plenty in the supply chain for a while to come. SE will have timed it so that the P800 will be available in the shops until the P900 is available in quantity.

Of course, if the P900 is to directly replace the 800 in the shops, you have to presume the price will pretty soon be about the same..........
