Is P800 transflective?

I thought the P800 was a normal type side lit TFT display but beginning to think it is transflective (reflects ambient light).

my iPAQ 3970 has a transflective display but is not as readable with the backlight off as the P800 with the backlight off.

When bright daylight or sunlight hits the P800 screen it is like having the backlight on, very readable even more than iPAQ.

Anybody know for certain or have an opion?

My p800s display i almost unreadable in direct sunlight...
But I'm pretty sure that this is the work of my bad screenprotector

I have the Brando protector on which cuts out nearly all glare. I find display VERY readable when walking about in the street & if I am sitting outside on a sunny day I turn the light off!

I could hardly read my T68 screen on a sunny day

Yeah, my screen is also very readable under fluroesent light without the backlight, certainly more so than many other devices I've had.

Get the Brando P800 shaped protector from Hong Kong (need credit card payment)

http://shop.brando.com.hk

I've tried others & you only get one but they are excellent. Cuts glare, improves writting, last ages if not forever, washable.

We had a field trip on Saturday (the entire family and a bunch of other people).

There was very strong sunlight. It was hard to read the P800 screen, but I turned off the backlight. And believe it or not, the screen became easier to read!

It's not THAT clear, but it's definitely clearer than my digital camera's LCD display under the same lighting conditions.
