How about an application that takes advantage of the signals from the SOCKET Bluetooth GPS receiver.

Then we would be really rocking with the P800 !!!

That sounds really nice, but is there any software available for p800 to do the mapping ??

Yes, that was kind of the question :

How about an application that takes advantage of the signals!

Socket claims porting mapping apps would be easy. Although I fail to see the practicality of socket's solution... other than the novelty of seeing a GPS map on your P800 in your car... at $500, I can get a much better Garmin solution for much less than that.

The new Garmin PDA/GPS costs $500, and Garmin is THE leader in GPS systems.

So to get a so-so GPS solution with a low-end antenna... you'll need the P800 ($700) and the Socket GPS ($500) ... and remember that GPS antennas HAVE TO SEE THE SKY AT ALL TIMES...which means if you want to use this as a portable GPS, you'll have to wear the thing on your hat!

If I really wanted a GPS solution for my P800, I'd rather wait for a Memstick Duo, or system connector solution. It may make the P800 even bigger, but at least it will still be just one device.

In this case money is no object, i want it bad and i want it NOW!
