Backup Problem On Whatsapp In iphone7

Hi, everyone:

My new phone is a Samsung Galaxy J3 Orbit refurb from Tracfone, I haven't used it a lot. Today I sent my husband a text. He received it and texted back. The phone did not beep or in any way indicate that a new text had come in. We figured that a software switch needed to be set, but neither of us could find anything in the phone's settings. Does anyone have this phone? If so, can you tell me how to make the phone beep when a new text message comes in? Thanks in advance.

Try this, check settings - apps- app notifications- select app - turn notifications on.
