My daughter her BB9780 is still working but the screen is white, and white only. At crackberry I read about a trick to press the screen for the connectors to connect again. It worked two times for about 10 seconds. I will try to open it and clean it. Otherwise it's shopping time. Not for a new screen. I don't think it'll be worth it.

Buying a new screen is a bad idea. What a new screen is worth you can get a cheap newer phone. Android?

I had a similar problem with one of my old BB's and was taught a trick that bought me a few extra months..... If your a handy kind of guy, just take the phone apart and be sure the battery has been off it for a good 30mins..

once the phone is disassembled, fold open a paper clip and use it to hold the ribbon firmly in place. Once you are confident it is being held securely, apply hot glue as you "roll" the paper clip and simultaneously slide it out of the way.

The glue is non conductive (obviously) but strong enough to hold the ribbon where it belongs. Close phone back up and enjoy.

Might try that in the future. If not, nobody cares.
