The Moto G by Motorola is an affordable Android smartphone for everyone.

This price means war for every other Android manufacturer and maybe even Windows Phone, with a price point well below 200 € for the 8 GB version.

The Moto G features:

169 € for the 8 GB version is almost a steal. Consider me impressed.

At least we all know why Google brought Motorola. To commoditize the phone market.

Anyway, I think it's excellent for the price.

Just seen a HD video test on Recombu and it looks good. Very decent for price and as a spare phone too. I once had the RAZR I and I never once had any issues with it

This is a good phone its very quick!
I Know somebody who got one just recently

It doesn't come with a phone charger tho
Just USB cable no headphones either lol

Got me one of these today. Nowadays they are bundling a charger with it outside of the box, at least here.
Speedy phone, a bit on the thick side but good handling. Near-stock KitKat is a huge plus.

@ceaser2008, please share your opinion.
Happy unwrapping. 😊

Thanks Hihihans...

Yes, I have unwrapped the phone yesterday...i've been it from morning. right now i'm setting up the phone and i am enjoying it. Though battery life seems bit low, provided that i am using the net continuously for updating and downloading the applications. so it would be too early to comment on battery life. Apart from that phone is very fast. The screen is very sharp and crystal clear. Still i have not experienced any lag.

i will post detail review after 2 or 3 days of use.

Five months now, had a white flip case but switched it in favour of a matte cover. Still like it, but I guess it has to go to make room for the Z3c...

@xell

You're the right person to guide me.

Which music player, video player to use??? Moreover which browser is the best??? I am using stock chrome but I feel it's not performing well.

Posted by xell
I too use Chrome but heard good things about Opera Mobile and Dolphin.

For video, I'd recommend VLC beta or MX Player.

https://play.google.com/store[....]s?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad

Finally for music, I just use Spotify. But that's near useless without subscription.

Today morning, I have upgraded to Kitkat 4.4.4.

Just ordered this OTG pendrive for my Moto G.

Posted by ceaser2008
Thanks Xell.

I have also heard about mx player for video. About browser, i am also tempted to use opera and ucbrowser. About Music player, I'm still confused. For now, I'm using stock 'play music' app.

Not really useless, at least for the first few songs until they play suggested songs that are more miss than hit. Unless you like random songs about booties in your country music playlist, it's not a really good app for music unless you go premium. You'd rather have downloaded music, though I do not know of any good music player in the Play store. I use the Walkman app for my phone, though exclusive for the Xperia I'm pretty sure you could find an .apk in XDA.

As for the video player, go for MX Player. You can also use it as a music player.

Congrats on your Moto G, Ceaser, I'm sure you'll thoroughly enjoy it and welcome back

Thanks Tsepz_GP I am loving my moto G.

@xell
Just got that pen drive yesterday. I have seen in the review videos of pen drive on YouTube that it shows notification instantly as soon as it is connectected but in my phone, no notification shows. Though I can access it via file manager. Is it the same with your moto g also???

Mine is the same as yours. Maybe you need to install the SanDisk app to get the notification?

i like it without notification.

After a week extensive use, i think it's a useful device. Though I would like to mention one thing, it takes time to charge the phone, roughly 2 - 2.5 hours from below 10% to nearly full. If I charge from my power bank on 2 V output, its fast.

Any Moto G 1st Gen user got lollipop update??? How is it???
