Media Player shortcut button on W595 won't minimise the player

Got this really frustrating problem with the Media Player shortcut button on my W595. Most of the time it toggles between bringing up the player and minimising it (which is what I want). But occasionally, especially after I've been browsing albums to play, pressing the button merely toggles back and forth to the track listing for the current album. Ie, the player won't minimise, so I have to then go through the Options menu to do that.

Is this a bug, a deliberate feature, or what? Any workaround? I just want a one-press minimise when all's said and done once I've started a track playing.
