i recently got a new job and planning to buy a new phone when i get my first pay-check...........

so, i have tried both c905 and Aino..........but to you guys who actually own this phones..........which on is the best (overall).

i heading for Aino because the master-super-screen, great Music/Media features, and good camera, (its also VERY beautiful made).

on the other hand c905 camera blow most phones back to stone-age (i dont care if some say other phones are better).
c905 camera with its realistic image quality and wonderful colour rendition is (for me) the absolute best choice if im looking for a great camera. my only concern is c905 build quality ?? is later models better or is example other colors better ?? (silver, gold ??)

price then................(in Sweden) Aino goes for 240 euro

c905 goes for (for exactly same money) 240 euro

I've got both. Aino is faster and makes good pics but for photo's C905 is better. Aino lacks a lot of pre-settings but has touch-focus to match up. You're facing a hard decision, I would take an Aino but that is my opinion. good luck roll a dice for help. 1,3,5 = C905 2,4,6 = Aino

C905 has awsome camera. but build quality is questionable

I think silver or gold colour phones are same since if they are in same product batch.

SE added some tricks to overcome flex damage due to upper keypad press (Ear speaker problem) later models.

But still C905 has lot of issues..

I don't know about Aino.

My C905 is one of the first ones and had flexcable, Dpad and keys replaced.
My Aino is fine. It's 1 year old now and still no problems.

ok mate...........im heading for Aino, but a Gold c905 seems very nice also.

ps....is Aino really faster then C905 ??? (thats a surprise)

pss. Aino has no EV right ..............so how accurate is Aino's Exposure Value ??

I think EV is accurate but i'm not a photo-critic.

plank is back
Go for the Aino, pretty much better in every way

Posted by Bonovox
Aino as I still may get one myself selling my x10

Nice thread! Exactly what I needed.

I replaced my Satio recently with an N8 but can't not own an SE phone.

Anyway, almost everyone is suggesting here the camera-wise the C905 is the better choice, and Aino for everything else..

How accurate is it to claim that the C905's camera is superior to the Aino..
In what is it better and by how much?

And I think both phones are out of production.. Am I right?

how strong is the lens-protection-glass on Aino
???? does it get scratchy easily, guess not, (should be made in mineral glass or something)

hhmmm.........Aino is my next phone i think my G900 and C902 deserves a place on the shelf now.

C905 All the Way

It's my second one C905 and even with the first one - No Problems at all

For Photos still is a good Cyber-shot from

Posted by plankgatan
thanks man.....so c905 you say...the camera + best xenon flash on the market is of course very very tempting.

have not decided yet i guess

Posted by mriley
i would consider the c901 instead of the c905, its better and cheaper

I don't know what the lens is made of but It's scratch proof. I am absolutely not careful with my phone and it is still scratch free. The screen is solid too, after a year in and out of my pocket, falling on the floor and traveling around my car i've only got some minor scratches on it.
Aino is an overall winner.
Touch-focus is a pleasure to use. The sound through MH100 is splendid.
Media menu works like a charm.
If I had to buy a phone today I would get an Aino again.

That's why I still want one & am selling x10 for it. Love the black one. C905 had many software & hardware issues

Posted by false_morel
I thought the Aino had Xenon!!

C905 then..
After having each of K800, K810, and K850, I should have tried a C-series phone anyway..
Late better than never..

Anyway, SE fans, any news of any SE Cybershot phones arriving this year?
Or are SE just sticking to the latest Android stupid shit from now on?!

As to the C905, any suggestions regarding the pricing and availability?

I'm finding some brand new C905s on ebay which is a bit weird after two years of release date!
Any comments would be appreciated..

thanks for all the answers...........im really REALLY looking forward to purchase a brand new Black Aino. with a bit practice the picture-quality will be awesome

ps...........the gladdest thing of all is that Aino does NOT use Symbian or Android.......i just LoVe the Java culture

I couldn't agree more

second hand websites can sometimes be crazily cheap.......

........just found a 3 months old unbranded Black Aino for 130 euro .......its barely not used at all and is in very good shape. (its a company phone which they get for free, so they sell it cheap).
.............................

merry Christmas everybody

Doesn't have to be weird, I've sold a brandnew W900i on here last summer and we still have a brandnew W800i

Good to know!
I usually get newly released SE phones (up to three months old), keep for a year max, then usually sell them to friends or on ebay..

So regarding the sales, second-hand phones, and old phones still in prodcution or available in retail, I don't have much of an idea as I'm not into this department..

Anyway, I decided to get the C905..
But as a secondary phone, I'll either just wait a bit, after the Christmass season, and get it new for cheaper price, or may just pick a used one in coming days..

Problem with Esato, too many posts to read.. Most of them contradicting as well.
Does the C905 suffer some software problems or not.. Does it feature the best Cybershot camera on feature phone or even the C901 performs better..
How hard is it to assess a phone and give an objective opinion or feedback..

Anyway, if anyone one got an idea, did SE cut production of feature cameraphones and the C-series, or just making some sort of a break due to financial difficulties?!
Any news on this matter?

I wouldn't go for Aino for several other reasons.

C905 has MUCH more modder support and there are so many patches available for it. You can fully customize the phone if you are an advanced user.

Also, C905 has got Elfpack and pother goodies.

You'll not have these advantages if you choose Aino.

But if you're not an advanced user, then Aino is good for you as well.

witchking you are right bro

after i bought Aino, i hardly regret myself......i think its the best cellphone by Sonyericsson so far.

Posted by exaflare23
i read some forums about c905 regarding hardware issues in older product batches, how to check if the unit is a new product batch? Thanks..

Posted by hihihans
You'll have to check the sticker inside. 09W25 would mean that it's build in 2009 week 25, thats early July

Posted by exaflare23
@hihihans

ok thanks,so it means if im going to buy c905 i'll only choose the sticker with dated july onwards or just made by 2009? ty.

Posted by hihihans
It was an example. I don't know when production stopped.

Posted by mallaccra
i like both and they were high end phones during their era but with aino you will get sleek looking, excellent build phone with superb acoustic and some touch screen functions....

Posted by angryman
The C905 is the first Sony Ericsson phone to ever fail me... and not once, but twice both brand new.
After the second time I went and bought a Samsung F480 and hated it from the start. Got an Aino a few weeks later and it's one of the best SE non-smart phones ever made.
The only issue with the Aino is an annoying bug where the touchscreen will stop working for no reason. A restart is the only way to fix it. SE never patched the issue either.
