I've searched for a remove-java-security-popups patch for K610, but can't find one. Does anyone have on lying around?
Thanks

I currently have a remove-java patch for W800 and K800. If you have one for other SE models, please send to mr_lou (at) vip dot cybercity dot dk
or attach here.
Thanks

Hi

What firmware is running the K610? One thing that you maybe don't know is that patches can be ported.

One thing I don't know? There are lots of things I don't know about all of this hacking, since I've never really done it before. Not much anyway. I'm seeing all these terms I wonder what means, then try to search for definitions, but can't really find the answers because there are so many posts that has the keywords. "Brown color" and "Red color"?

Firmware in the K610 is R8BE001

Can you tell me more about porting?

The patch you need for your phone must match your firmware version.

When I say that patches can be ported I mean that a W800 patch can be suitable for your phone changing some values with a little help of 3rd party softwares.

The colors of certificates indicate the state the phone is in. For example the phone with red cert. is that phone ready for the consumer. The brown is for developers and the blue is for the manufacturer.

But what is the difference between these colors? Does the brown version have some abilities that helps the developer? Like e.g. no java-restrictions?

Soon I'll have a beta-version of a little J2ME app ready for everyone to download for free. It'll let you transform your older J2ME-enabled phone into a surveillance unit. It will try to detect motion in a room, and then send an MMS to a given number when it does. As I see it, it's a cheap way of getting some surveillance in your home.
But it'll only work if the phone is patched. Otherwise it'll just hang at "Allow to take picture?" and "Allow to send MMS?". (I'm not paying $300 a year to sign this app and give it away for free).

So, when I have the beta ready and provide a download link, then people will probably ask how to patch their phone. It would be neat if we could have the answers ready upfront.
So far it seems to be that the easiest way of doing it, is to use DaVinci Client. It's also the most expensive way of doing it though.... But so far that's the only way I can recommend when people ask.

It would also be nice to have some guide how to patch a Nokia Symbian device, if it's possible.

I'd say yes. The brown certificate is something like that. For example A2 CID52 phones must be brown to be patched. I will try to get you the patch as soon I get to my work place.
